What if Last Year was still going on?

But really...what if it was still going?

Ok, before I start discussing about this, I'll explain what Last Year is really briefly for those who don't know. If you already know a bit about Last Year, you can just skip the next paragraph.

First things first, Last Year is not a copy of dbd, I see more as a combination of both F13 the game and Left 4 dead. It's a 5V1 game where the survivors have to perform various sorts of actions to escape before the timing ends or the killer kills all of them. Survivors have a class system, with each class being totally unique from one another and a crafting system that changes depending on which class you choose in the beginning of the match. While the killer can switch their character when they die, which can pretty much change the playstyle of every player of the match, since you need to adapt to another killer in very short window of time. And there's a lot more of things in this game, but I don't want to explain every single aspect of it so....back to the discussion.

So after all of this, you ask: "But why did the game die if every match can feel like a completely different experience from the past ones?" And no, it's not because people hated their game or something like that, it's because covid ######### them REALLY bad.

But let's just say that IF covid never existed or IF the team pulled themselves together and continued to work hard, would dbd be better? They had plans to bring the game to consoles, new mechanics, classes, survivors, killers, maps and gamemodes.

So obviously, Behaviour would have to hard as well to keep up with the competition and improve their game to keep us playing dbd and in the long run...MAKING THE GAME REALLY GOOD.

But that's just my opinion, what do you guys think?

Didn’t last year die long before COVID?

Last Year died the second it was released on Discord exclusively. Sure, I think it released on other stores later, but that really damaged it's player count.

Pretty much this. It was dead from release.

Like, who releases a game on Discord only?

I'm not entirely sure Last Year would've been up to snuff. The gameplay loop seemed a lot less balanced than modern DBD to me.

Shame that it died. I liked the concept.

Except for fighting back. That kinda felt weird. It should have focused more on escaping and survival.

    Barricade doors, stealth, etc.
