Auric Cells Prices
Hello. I need information on something. I went on holiday to Turkey in early July. I noticed that the prices of auric cells are cheaper in Turkish lira. About 8 days ago, I made a country change on steam. However, steam is forcing me to pay in USD. I waited for 1 week thinking it was a cooldown, but the situation did not change. While I can buy all games with Turkish lira on Steam, I have to pay in USD when purchasing auric cells. There is a price difference of exactly 5 times, and frankly, I do not want to pay in USD. Has anyone encountered a similar situation before or knows how to solve this situation?
I shared 2 images about the pricing in the game and the pricing in the checkout section. As you can see, while pricing is made in Turkish Lira in the game, I have to pay in USD at checkout.

Steam should automatically give you the prices to where you actually are living. So if you're living somewhere where the Steam prices are in USD then that's correct. You cannot change your location on Steam in order to get cheaper prices of DLC's etc - this is against Steams ToS.
If you're being charged a different currency than the one in your area, I do suggest contacting Steam directly about this.

It does kind of raise the question of why auric cells are so much more expensive in some regions compared to others.

Because it's the same effective price. A currencies international trading value isn't determined by what it's worth within it's own borders.

It cost 643.000vnĐ in Vietnam (equal 28$) for 6000 auric. The price is already around 1 and a half day salary for average people here.
If 6000 auric cost 50$ in my country. No one in my country would ever buy.

An easy way to understand this is the Big Mac-Index - same product, different price, dependant on the Purchasing Power Parity.
(Like, I was in Australia a few years ago and I was pretty baffled how expensive some things were, compared to Germany. And then one of the Australians I worked with told me that their minimum wage is around 30-40% higher than in Germany (or in general, they earn more money, if we convert both in US-Dollar/International Dollar)... So it is just logical that things there are a bit more expensive)

In capitalism, prices are primarily based on two things:
- How much people are willing to pay for a product.
- How much people can pay for a product.
This is an oversimplification, obviously, but that's how it works.
IMO, it's utter crap, because if you sell a game for the equivalent of 20 EUR, for instance, it's because can afford to sell it at 20 EUR - companies don't sell things at low prices for shits and giggles, they always expect to turn a profit. To me, this indicates that games are usually double or triple the price they could otherwise be. However, that's how pricing works.

Like Mandytalk said, the price is attributed to where you live not where you are on Steam. If you don't live in the USA but you are getting USA prices contact Steam.
