How do people think modding to gain an advantage is fine?

If it is possible to make trapper and hag traps glow up like christmas lights, then you bet your ass someone is going to abuse the heck out of it. I know there is a community for modding and so on and I have no problem with that but if it gives you an advantage over your opponent then it needs to go. Lock up the files or do anything that needs to be done so it doesn't get abused. It's just harmful for the game's future (which already isn't great) when more and more people realize they can do it.

Modding is fun for single player games or a multiplayer game that doesn't have support from the devs anymore but it's definitely a no-no if it affects actual gameplay. Now I know some will be like "So it's an advantage to use a skin that is client sided?" and no it isn't. But I would assume it's the same method that people use to light up traps so...needs to go.

Also I wonder if stretch screen comes under it. And before you ask, stretch screen increases your FOV and gives you an advantage and is proven. Still curious though.
