It works well for me. She also can’t tell which side of the pallet you are on in most situations.

I can tell you don’t play her much. The distance from one side to the other is too close to know for sure.

You can. I have good ears and I can tell. I'm sorry your ears dont work but it is definitely noticeable.

BS. You have probably played her a few times against green and purple ranks and then decided you can hear every time. I consistently 4k with spirit. You cannot know for sure, especially if they aren’t injured.

The issue with Spirit is that you don't beat a good Spirit in the micro game i.e. chases like you can with every other killer to varying degrees. Spirit requires every survivor to specifically tailor their gameplay to Spirit, and it's so unlikely to get 4 randoms that a: accept that reality, and b: actually know what to do and pull it off.

Well of course you found the Spirit sound bug amazing. Depending on the timing of the bug, the Spirit's power is useless and she has no counterplay against you just like a subpar killer. Since survivors are effectively able to hide behind invincibility walls (loops) a killer that doesn't outright neuter the loop's mechanics through some way or another(Nurse and ranged killers being the typical examples) have to remove information or otherwise have an uncreatable method to get a survivor, because all the survivor has to do is react, change the side and they're safe.

Some headphones and software (Dolby Atmos for myself) amplify directional and surround sound audio. Depending on where you are standing while phasing, you can in fact hear directional audio through one side, in this case the survivor breathing. Doesn't work for everyone because you really do need the specs and software to do it.

You have no idea what makes a PVP game good if you think luck is a core component

You will never in your life find a fighting game (arguably the most competitive, pvp-oriented genre) where luck is a strong factor. At least, not a popular one. Tekken Revolution tried that with a critical hit system and the entire FGC threw that game in the dumpster on day 1.

If you have to make an augment based off of 3rd party software, it's the software messing with the game that's the problem. This would be like me saying some tiles are poorly designed purely because of stretched res.

Okay, but that wasn't my point. He called BS that you can't hear directional cues from survivor breathes. But you can under the right circumstances.

Nope bud rank 1. I like how you cant stand someone being better than you. If you have ears you can tell. Most good spirits can tell. Drop the ego and test it out.

That's a false equivalency. Most killer players use headphones to do exactly what Shooby's talking about.

I wasn't saying luck is the definition of PVP. I was saying that survivor used a tactic to outplay Spirit and when she did that tactic again Spirit outplayed her. That's the definition of PVP.

I test it out every time I play. I see a lot of Spirits at red rank when i am survivor and they all fall for the pallet side swap. But yea man, I guess you’re just the ultimate Spirit and every spirit i have faced is bad.

I play both sides, with my main Killer being Spirit. Most my hours have been in Survivor thus far though.

The issue is that Spirit's add-ons are literally broken. They do way more then intended. To add to it, Spirit has a lot of ways to track Survivors, while the Survivors will rarely even know when the Spirit they're in chase with is actually phasing. (Yes, there is a subtle animation difference, however, it's not necessarily clear, and if you don't know her animation cycle, it's really, really easy to mess up.) Because of this, Spirit has the ability to pretty much stand still, watch you start juking before she even begins phasing, and then phase and call you on your bluffs because of how fast she is.

With that being said, I think Spirit is a hard Killer to fix outside of add-on changes and this Stridor change. (Stridor change being very necessary.) I've seen a lot of bad Spirits in my time as Survivor who just cannot for the life of them understand that her phase is more then a mobility tool, and get ran for 5 gens. There's also a decent learning curve with getting decent phase walks (Definitely not as high as say Huntress, Blight, or Nurse, but still higher then say, Wraith.) that are more risky mid-chase. And, on the flip side, I've seen a lot of Survivors who don't even really attempt to play around some of Spirit's faults (even if they are, admittedly minor) and will just hold W to death or attempt to canp pallets.

Idk, I don't think Spirit without Stridor is as braindead as people make her out to be, but she definitely is extremely domineering against most players in the game if you're good at her- and the fact that she doesn't have clear tells and broken add-ons makes her frustrating to face as a Survivor, since, like other really good Killers, Survivor's skill doesn't really matter against them. It's all about the Killer's skill.

Give Spirit her own blue scratch marks and made an audible noise cue when she enters and leaves her power. That will be a good start

I usually defend the killer role because I understand the game is very survivor sided, but Spirit is unfun and bad for the health of the game. People don't even have to be slightly decent at Spirit to clean up vs average skill survivor players. This makes solo survivor terrible because most teammates you get, are average skill players. I had a game the other day vs a Undying Ruin Spirit. All my teammates went down in like 5 seconds, but I was able to run her and break chase multiple times. The killer even said Jake ran her so long, I was the Jake btw, that gens should've been popping. This killer also said this was like their third game ever on Spirit. She is just too strong for how little effort she needs. At least with Nurse you need to guess right about line of sight blinks and get muscle memory. But Spirit is just pretty much pick her up and dominate like 90% of survivors easily. Just slap on tons of gen slowdown, Stridor and you can coast to red ranks just based on her being crazy strong and the perks you use.

Made her power useless? Lol good joke.

All it did was make the Spirit have to be smarter about how she uses her power. People don't mind Nurse because at least you know she needs to be SKILLED to actually beat you at loops. Same with Billy before his pointless nerf.
