Some journalists can really get away with anything
Look at how bad this is article is...
"Regardless of that, Springwood isn't a favored map by Killers or Survivors as matches either go terribly bad or terribly good due to the environment."
"The map feels small and closed in. Some generators are hidden behind or within houses, but the ones on the wide open street are what pose threats to the objective. It lacks common loop walls everyone has gotten used to. There are fences to make up for it, but they pose a risk as Killers can still hit through them. Haddonfield is often more annoying than thrilling."
They're using Balanced Landing and Sprint Burst together... Unless this is a screenshot from a very very long time ago and therefore not updated.
Who is giving these people jobs??

Who is giving these people jobs??
In a word? You. By clicking on that article, by sharing that article, you're guaranteeing that more articles like this will be written, because, clearly, people are interested in it.

You can tell that screenshot is at least 8 months old because Balanced Tier 3 is green and they changed the perk tiers to be yellow for all Tier 1, green for all Tier 2, and purple for all Tier 3 back in October last year.
Edit: My favorite part is when they say on Dead Dawg Nurse has to depend on her slow speed because there aren't a lot of walls to teleport through because obviously that's the only time you can use her ability, when there's a wall.
Edit: CROTUS IS A FOREST MAP? NO.

To be fair, I don't think their bosses give them alot of time to actually play these games & get good at them. I assumed they read a "best survivor perks" article & just went from there.

Tbh this list isn't that bad. If I were to do a ranking from worst to best, this would be really close to it. Sure he says some "lol" things like Haddonfield being bad for survivors, but you can't expect depth knowledge from a casual gamer.

Well then should they even be making articles about games they don't know much about? That's kind of lame imo.

One day you will learn that all journalism nowadays is a glorified twitter post with a picture attached to it. Not just this article, but the whole industry because if you publish something that someone in power doesn't like it gets X'd. So we end up with this. (Nice future we're building together btw.)
I remember one time there being a Cuphead game critic that couldn't beat the tutorial level, but I'll give this one credit. You can tell by the fact they're the only survivor and the HUD is in the old style yet they have cosmetics from the shop that this screenshot is a few years old. They made a private game and loaded into the map, got the survivor hit and gave it the thumbs up.
Bravo. Bravo.

They have little to no time to actually learn and play the game due to the demands of the industry. Gaming news sites are for surface-level reviews and industry news, not in-depth game knowledge.
If you want someone to blame, blame their boss s for forcing them to write random shite about a game they aren't allowed to play.

Nah, over half of them dont care or just write about how political the game is rather than the actual game.
Or complain about a hard game being... well hard and ask for easy modes.
Like ive seen the gameplay of some of them and honestly thats not from a person that didnt played that game, thats from a person that doesnt play games at all.

Its called Click Bait and you fell for it.
Avoid clicking on and never share Click Bait if you want it to go away!

Of course every journalist writing about dbd has to have at least 2000 hours on both killer and survivor!

Its a journalist, what do you expect?
1 -
They are usually expected to play the numerous games they have to write about in their own downtime due to the workload they are dumped with. They don't have time.
1 -
I mean, doubt they care to begin with, their work is literally play games and write about it, that aint that hard, if you see how a lot of them act, it really shows.
A while ago they harassed a Youtuber after he called them out on their laziness with their reviews (And he was right.+, the reviewer herself admitted barely playing the game cause she didnt wanted to bother)
They dont deserve any pity, cause thats how they operate now, a joke.

You may not agree but it's all subjective.

Gamers by and large completely disregard game "journalists" these days for this exact reason. They're usually hot garbage at games, and will often write hit-pieces on why said games need to be changed (IE Dark Souls needs an easy mode)

I remember the cup head thing virtually everyone on the internet made fun of that person

Eh, I have noticed that discussions on what maps are good or bad for survivor or killer are absolutely the opposite of consistent. Even my boi OTZ that helped teach me the game has some really weird and contradictory opinions about criteria from map to map. I wouldn't take ANYONE'S opinion on that seriously. There are just way too many factors.

A freaking pigeon beat the guy....

I'm familiar with The Gamer -- and I like some of their list articles -- but it's not journalism and it's not pretending to be. It's random people getting a token payment to submit content to their site.
IMO, it's okay for some random person to be wrong about something on the internet. It doesn't really matter.
