Will the next patch ACTUALLY fix this game?
I just want to know if this upcoming patch is going to fix the horrible experience on console because it's boggles the mind how Everytime as killer when the power is used it lags everyone an makes it a buggy frustrating mess of a game. Can't get challenges done because of this and it's tilting since it's our of my control even as survivor getting hit with something then laging back or dead hard not working.

probably won't, but all we can do is just hope for the best. I think Boycott got ignored, we basically don't have any power over it, so all we can do is just hold tight and hope for the good

Was there boycott?

Here's hoping. It'll probably end up fixing PC, since that's actually pretty easy (disable the problematic effects and tie them to High/Ultra settings only) but console is a different story, given the Devs want it to look as pretty as possible and really don't seem to care about early last gen consoles.

Last gen is kinda ######### if I’m being honest. It’ll only be a matter of time before optimisation just isn’t possible for bhvr

Probably not.

No

Id mention his name but it will probably get my post deleted. A certain youtuber named after a tropical fruit posted a video that kind of showed some affects of the boycott.

Doubt.

No. Probably not

99 bugs on the wall, 99 bugs on the wall. ya take one down patch it around 143,672 bugs on the wall

I honestly believe it will. They gain no benefit from allowing the game to be a lagfest this bad on console & aren't going to risk losing customers over hoping people will be okay with it.

No,not really

I own a One X (which released in 2018 and is significantly more powerful than the One S or base Xbox One) and I am still having issues.
1 -
Based on the track record of patches, No....and it will break even more.

My boycott will end up being switching to back 4 blood in Oct 2021 when it launches. This recent failure of the RE chapter (which i was hyped to get) and BHVR response finally turned me off. Sad to see another game developer care more about launching content that isn't ready just to get $. Cyberpunk, Fallout 76, DBD. These companies decided to use launch as a beta test instead of getting it through proper QA. Here's hoping back 4 blood will be everything i remember from left 4 dead and more.

Probably not

Hopefully if this continues the game will start to loose players on last gen.

If the maps stop flashing on PS4 and PS5 on Tuesday I will happily buy the 4025 Auric Cells pack that will let me buy Claire Redfield and whatever Cop Cheryl is called. It's not even good value but I've never objected to putting money into my favourite game. I'm sure there are plenty of people in a similar situation to me.
If the devs don't care enough to put the game back to how it was, then they obviously don't want our money.

Will it completely fix everything that's wrong with the game? No.
Will it fix many issues? Yes.
Will it fix all the issues you want? I don't know, but probably not.
Will people still complain that they didn't fix [insert thing here]? Definitely.
3 -
I have no confidence in it. I'll happily eat my words if I'm wrong.

If it’s harder to fix console than PC than I can’t say I’m confident everything will be solved. But this is crucial for BHVR if they don’t wanna lose players.

The other hotfix patch released in June made performance worse.
We've never seen a performance upgrade on current-gen systems.
I have zero confidence in BHVR's ability to fix the real underlying problem, but I think they can make the game run like before RE.
But if it doesn't, a lot of people are going to quit.

Playing survivor is bad and playing killer is aweful. When I chase a survivor all they do is move a little left and my game lags so bad I lose them. And NO I'm not a rank 20 killer I'm saying lag is having an impact.

I hope. I uninstalled the game for the first time after the RE patch. Installed it again for the event, but if things don't get AT LEAST on the level it was before the update, then yeah I'll have to quit.
1 -
I hope so. Otherwise, it's gonna be a sad sad bloodhunt.

They have had the time and resources to optimize last gen consoles. They just haven't done it.

They are either going to surprise us or the usual.
I am already losing interest little by little and have some other games that I currently play.
If the freezes are still there, I am definitely uninstaling on 27th.
1 -
they took a long time to deliver the fix, so i would imagine it will

Unless you're using the royal "we", then you're wrong. I have indeed experienced performance upgrades since I started playing. Several times, as a matter of fact.
0 -
And what platform do you play on?
1 -
PC, which had performance issues as well, back in the day.

I did specify that I was referring to current-gen systems, ie, Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One X, PS4 and PS4 Pro.
Apologies if that wasn't clear
1 -
Probably not
Due to the amount of problems this game has

A PC with current-gen hardware is a current-gen system, though. And PC did have performance issues at the same time those other platforms existed.

Unlikely, BHVR has a bad track record with optimizing their games, even before they were name changed to BHVR.
I mean look at Naughty Bear, I just recently got a copy of the gold edition for my ps3 and it runs terribly. Even the digital only "Sequel" Panic in Paradise, which has much less foliage and detail than the first game, somehow runs even worse than the first game.

Still significantly better than year 1 consoles. I tried launching the game on my severely overused Xbox one and it just kept crashing as it loaded in menu assets.
Glad I'm on PC, where... Where I can launch the game and spend the next hour freezing so bad I can't repair gens or walk in straight lines.
