Question: Which role harder?
Survivor or Killer?
I can say killer. I am playing both roles and usually survivor games more chill for me. My killer games 90% sweaty.

Personally, solo queue survivor is the hardest then killer.
I usually play at night time central time, and I usually play solo survivor.
I make killer perk bingo, ruin, undying, tinkerer are almost always used at that time.
When I play killer I play dead hard bingo, whenever I see a dead hard I have a snack ( I hate candy).
But anyways to the point, yes solo survivor is harder then killer then swf.

Same. Killer games are super sweaty for me. Playing survivor is chill and relaxing, even in solo queue.
Only thing that keeps me from playing survivor exclusively is low BP gain

I hate solo-q too but usually i am playing with my friends. When my friends are online, survivor games are really chill.

Exactly, swf is easy, solo queue not so much, especially when some survivors do not do anything.
I rarely have issues as killer, not saying that I don't have to sweat, sometimes I do but not all the time.

From a mechanical standpoint, I find Killer harder. There's simply more to focus on than Survivor gameplay, IMO.
That doesn't mean Survivor gameplay is easy. From a mechanical standpoint, I find it easier. But from just how much is out of my control, the matches can be harder. Sure, I can put out a Map offering or something, and I can control my own gameplay... But I can't make my teammates do gens when I'm getting chased, I can't make them throwing every single pallet, I can't make them not go down after 7.5 seconds.
I can't make the Killer not facecamp or tunnel me because I dared to play the game well. And because someone will say it, no, I'm not saying these tactics are unfair nor problematic. I am simply pointing out I can't do much but sit there, which is not fun. And with the teammates I get they farm me off hook anyways.
So, imo, the mechanical skill of killer = harder. Not incredibly difficult, but harder than Survivor.
The fact that I have to rely on other people can make Survivor way harder though.

It's a bit complex, really. In order to learn the basics, just enough to win, survivor is significantly easier because you have the whole predrop-and-W thing going for you. But to become a genuinely good player, survivor is harder because it's harder to learn to effectively loop and chain tiles than it is to learn to play... Probably any killer in the game, even high-and-mighty Nurse.
However, killer has a much higher skill floor. Being genuinely, terrifyingly good at survivor may be harder, but learning the basic competence of killer is just ridiculous. You basically have to play near-perfect trials to beat noobs that can do gens and prethrow pallets, it's insane.
This may be a casual game, but the game itself doesn't give a crap. It can hand sweaty survivors RCPD Vs addonless Myers and call the Myers shite for losing. No crap people find killer not only harder, but much more stressful.
So with everything in consideration, killer is much harder, because this game is set up in such a way that you'll be going against red rank sweat squads in no time.

Killer is harder at high ranks when facing good survivors.
But, solo q is the hardest mode in the game. At least as killer you determine the flow of the game and do not have to rely on anyone else.
Solo q, with ######### teammates, is borderline unbearable.

In general, Killer is harder than playing Survivor. You don't need to worry about multiple things at once as Killer to net a win.
But as Survivor, you're mostly relying on teammates. And with Solo Queue, it can be an even more frustrating and difficult experience than Killer is.

Definitely Killer imo
Ive been playing way more survivor over the past few months, killer is just way too stressful to play too much in one day.
Even though survivor still has its challenges, it is not "easy" by any means.
Nonetheless, being 100% of your team as killer is more challenging than being 25% of your team as survivor.

You're entering hard mode if you proceed on to playing as a solo survivor. So, it's survivor. Solo = hard mode but SWF = easy mode
4 -
Solo queue as a survivor is definitely the worst. SWF is the easiest. Killer falls in the middle.
1 -
I would say killer is more intensive to play however easier to be good at, particularly when you slap on perks to play the game for you ie ruin/undying, pop, corrupt etc
0 -
LOL keep telling yourself that you have control buddy. Good survivors has full control of the pace of the game, not you. this has been shown numerous times and most recently with the "hard core survivor" challenge being done with the main content creators.

SQ is harder than killer and killer is harder than SWF.
2 -
It depends. For solo its mostly harder because of trash mates but otherwise its Killer.
0 -
Killer in general is harder. Survivor in general is more rage-inducing.

Thanks, Buddy.
4 optimal survivors are the exception, not the rule. As you can clearly tell when you play as or verse Solo q.
4 -
If you play solo then survivor can be tough. If you are playing 4 mans then it is easy mode and you can win every single game if you have decent coms and don't ######### around.
1 -
It really depends on how seriously you take the game.
1 -
Killer since it's one vs four.
1 -
killer is harder then survivor... more characters that play differently so you have more to learn, a shite FOV compared to the god tier fov for survivor....
IMO the solo Q is more annoying to play not harder... if you learn the tiles and how to loop etc.... you'll still be able to run the doc or clown for a year.... so it's not harder then killer it's just annoying because that moment when you get knocked down and you see the teammates doing nothing, just makes you not want to continue to play.
1 -
For me killer

Is killer for me

Survivor is more nerve racking. My killer games are pretty chill but that's probably because I only use ghostface
1 -
Depends on what type of players you get.
If your randoms sucks, survivor is harder.
If your team is good, killer is almost unplayable.
4 -
Certainly biased because I play more Solo Que than killer, but definitely survivor
It's a gamble if my team is competent and even then, an incredibly good team could still be awful if they spend the entire match BMing the killer instead of doing gens.
Now, I know that when a team is good that killer is extremely frustrating, but from my experience; Solo Que Survivor is the hardest
3 -
I hate the third person for survivors, it just.. Feels way too easy, especially if some monster stretches their resolution
1 -
it doesn't really fit the survivor/horror type for sure.... it is though an enjoyable FOV.
0 -
Killer is definitely harder than survivor. Always was, always will be.
And, truth be told, that is okay.
4 -
Killer but solo queue surv without second chances is close
0 -
Yeah, honestly no shame in saying it, honestly if Killers get some minor buffs then it'd be easier.
Nothing intense obviously
1 -
Survivor is harder when you have terrible teammates and/or going against a challenging killer imo
1 -
1.) Solo Q
2.) Killer
3.) SWF
That's my impression.
2 -
Even as a solo survivor, I’d still say killer for the most part. I may just be a ######### killer as well, but I feel bad for new killers that survivors just run over.
1 -
Minor buffs would indeed make the killer role easier, but I don't think said buffs are required.
0 -
@Northener1907 I thought you would say playing Survivor is alot harder
Remember to lock your door.
2 -
Oh my gosh! Perfect. And thank you!! 😍

Solo>Killer>SWF
My winrate as a low-tier killer in red rank was still higher than my winrate as solo surv.
SWF is just a cakewalk because the game isn't balanced around it.
0 -
Killer is pretty easy till like rank 8 but after that wew boye I struggle hard
0 -
That's fair, I'm just thinking like an ever quicker speed to kicking, that's all. Not a lot, but time management would be less strict
0 -
Same answer as @OldHunterLight
I play both sides and solo queue most of the time.
Solo queue is probably the hardest for me, followed by Killer (depending) and then SWF.
0 -
That is why I always run Brutal Strength. It feels so slow without it.
0 -
Killer because of SWF. Most solo que games for me as killer are pretty chill. I can take my time and go out of my way to make things fun and exciting for myself and the survivors. Most of my games are pretty close. SWF most of the time you can’t even enjoy playing because gens go like crazy and the players are purposely being annoying with flashlights, teabagging, and spamming sound ques. Don’t get me wrong, Survivor isn’t a cakewalk either due to some people’s game sense. But killer is harder & less fun IMO.
0 -
Me too, but I've been getting rekt on Coldwind, those loops are ridiculous... ergh
0 -
Solo q survivor is harder to survive/escape, for killer it's more stressful to succeed, both can be hard just in different ways.
0 -
They're too different to compare, imo.
But I agree that one of the nice things about survivor is the downtime between chases.
0 -
This question has been asked plenty of times, but its mostly situational. Killer can often be incredibly difficult and stressful since you have to manage to much at once, but at the same time against certain survivors its a cakewalk. Comparatively to SoloQ where having those cakewalk survivors makes your entire experience an impossible battle to win, and can require a ton of mechanical skill from you to win. DBD's difficulty is nearly always situational
