Personal opinion on SoloQ
Alot of people say it's terrible. It can be you can have bad teammates that waste alot of pallets and get downed easily, people not doing gens and other similar stuff. However I have rarely had that happen lately. In the last few weeks since I started playing again I have actually survived a ton of games and had decent teammates. Alot of games if the killer is weak go under 7-8 minutes(legion for e.g). Ofcourse I do from time to time get bad teammates but still it's a very low amount of games. What's ur experience in soloQ?

My experience has almost universally been soloQ except for maybe a couple months when I had a SWF. I don't mind it; for me it's the default way to play and I think it's intended to be that way. I just think it's annoying that, for me, it's imperative to drag Kindred along for the ride because otherwise I would be blind.

My experience has probably been 90% soloQ/10% swf. I just enjoy playing alone more I guess. Kindred is really good In soloQ games I agree on that!

It varies from game to game, honestly. Teamwork can be nearly impossible to pull off, but as long as you're there to have fun and not necessarily to win, it's not the end of the world. If I can at least make sure all 4 of us end the game with over 10k bp, then I'm happy. People that don't consider anything short of an escape a win will have a very different opinion on that lol

Solo que's problems are exemplified by Knockout and Third Seal. Rare perks, sure... But they're a free win against a full solo team because of just how little information they have.
That's how weak solo que is. It gets absolutely wrecked by two of the supposedly-weakest perks in the game. Except they are actually quite rare to see, because there are very few full solo teams. Which is why solo hasn't been buffed.

When I play survivor I usually go SoloQ, and the way I approach these matches is with little expectations to be honest lol
I usually try to complete the easy daily rituals or challenges that won't require too much gameplay, cleansing totems, fixing gens, etc, and hope not to die on the first hook lol Also, I never use my event cakes or stronger items here because I never know when I can get a bad team. I guess I just like the idea of playing for the BPs and not taking it too seriously, if I get over 10k I'm okay

My experience in solo queue is selfish teammates who are either too lazy or too scared to help anyone else. People leave me to die for no reason when I've single handedly finished the last two gens while they hid, and opened both gates, and cleansed NOED, and went down to make a save when I could have left several minutes prior. Fully healed teammates leave me for no reason when they know there is no NOED. I've had games where there is one gen to go, and I find all three teammates literally just standing at the last gate, waiting for me to finish it. If there is NOED, rarely do any of them even take a second to look for the totem. Ive had games where I literally run the killer for EIGHT MINUTES STRAIGHT and they still don't do all the gens, but they certainly all had their crowns.
I'm glad solo queue has been nice for you, but in my more than 1500 hours, almost entirely as a solo queuer, it's miserable.

It’s a mixed bag

Honestly,Solo Queue in itself isn't as bad as most people claim.
It's only that bad because of bad matchmaking. That's it

Solo queue can be amazing sometimes. I even had to record a match today:
(Ignore the lag, console pleb)
5 gens done in 4:40 against a rank 2 Spirit. Sure she was pretty bad, but imo it's still impressive. Solo queue can be efficient too.
My hope is that a functioning MMR is what will save solo queue, so you can actually get 3 teammates that are on your level.

Hope you'll get better teammates in the future <3

That is a thing I have been thinking about too,the possibility of MMR actually saving soloQ,that is if it works properly. Praying for it 🙏

Hope the MMR will fix it as someone mentioned(that is if BHVR doesn't mess it up :D)

Solo Q is ok IMO
But I do see odd things from time to time (probably due to my playtime as survivor isn't much)

Solo queue tip: DODGE lobbies with defaults, they're usually the noobs that kill the game for you and remember style = skill.

I normally play in SWFs, but I'll occasionally do a solo game here or there, and they're mixed bags. Solo players we get when we do 3 mans tend to be notoriously awful. (Like players who will get you killed with their bad plays. A lot.) A few good players here and there, but they're not common.
When I solo queue, I tend to get average to meh teammates with generally decent perk varieties (One guy with a full meta build, with everyone else maybe having one or two meta perks and then some random, oddball stuff for the rest of the build), but I also tend to get a lot of Killers with really overwhelming builds/perks, or maps that are hard to verse them on. (Like Stridor Spirit who otherwise had a meme build, but doesn't matter when you're playing Stridor Spirit, or Deathslinger with Pop/Ruin/Monitor on Midwich.)
Idk, I like playing Solo, but it can feel super overwhelming, because good Killers can just so easily dominate a solo team.

As a solo player, there are some matches I'd rather not re-live, but the idea it's somehow full of imbeciles is grossly exaggerated.
I've had more fun matches than problematic, and I much prefer the harder difficulty and unpredictability that makes me a far better player, because I have to learn to roll with the chaotic flow of the trial.
With swf, if they're using comms to direct the match then really it's Dead By Daylight on tutorial mode and I much prefer a challenge. Although, in fairness the one time I tried swf I absolutely hated the distraction of chatting team mates and it destroyed any immersion for me.
Overall, for me SoloQ is the best experience.

My solo queue experience is something like, I touch a gen, see if it has ruin (most of the time it does) then when I'm about to finish a gen, killer randomly appears with tinkerer, I either loop for a while then the other survivors do nothing, I get hooked and no gens pop, I go to 2nd hook stage because survivors refuse to unhook me even when the killer isn't there.
Killer comes back after I get unhook, I get tunneled out.
I've been getting new players as teammates as well.

Most of the time, Solo Queue sucks ass.
But there are those special moments when you're matched with people who are actually competent and escape without any hooks.

Solo is a great way to gauge your own ability. Going in you have to dismiss the idea of multiple chances and maximize your actions prior to engaging with the killer. The more capable a survivor is the more likely they will outlive teammates.
Teammates are not really a factor of your survival; in the sense that they have no bearing on your situational awareness or ability to avoid contact with the killer. Even with them feeding the killer a snowball, the game rewards the last player standing opportunity to escape.

I recently just feel ball and chain to bt and ds as well because the timing in solo a lot of times just forces unhooks.
The abundance of meta builds lately takes away the fun of build varieties, a big part of the fun I have in dbd and I find myself dying a ton while trying to be casual and creative.

Solo Queue is not nearly as bad as most people say it is. The problem is matchmaking pairing you with people below your skill level.
1 -
I feel you. I usually always run Kindred & Iron Will. If I wasn't so jaded against my teammates I might still run BT LOL but currently I don't. I'm always questioning whether it's really necessary to take an exhaustion perk with me too.

I mean when people say Solo Queue, they usually complain about matchmaking.
Even if my fellow teammate is "Rank 1", they'll still play like Rank 21s.

You put it in a really good way, couldn't have said it better

Solo queue... Is a mixed bag of nuts. Sometimes I get good teams and others I get like one of my last solo queue teammates. Ran miss Hagatha for 2 gens (would've probably been more but I only went down because she didn't fall for the second window fake) which was great but then I seen them all do something you should never do against a Hag: hook bomb. Literally lining up for the save, stumbling on top of each other, rushing the save without forethought of if she has trapped my hook (and she did) or the area for that matter. Finally got out of that pickle but then one of the fools managed to get themselves caught at basement. Miss Hagatha snowballed off these monkey brains and wound up getting a 3k all in the basement because they kept rushing saves injured, stock piling onto the other. Literally barely got altruism points, these guys were so greedy for them all. Why, I don't know, none of them was running WGLF. These were all purple ranks...
Then other times I get teams like earlier. I was playing the fun locker build Claire (Q+Q + Head On + Deception + Iron Will) and the killer was Pyramid Head. Everyone was a rockstar, knew when to save and when to work on gens, looped Pyramid Head well enough and away from gens actively being worked on. Basically the most efficient team I've had in a while.
That's literally the only two modes solo queue has for me. There is no in between. Occasionally mode one has sandbagging and farming which either I do not Vibe with. I live for mode two where everyone is a rockstar and I can say it was truly a great game even if we lost.

Which proves the a proper MMR fixes the infamous Solo Queue.
Such a simple solution, yet it is so far from us...

Played Solo Q mainly since 2017, it's a different mindset. It should not be about escaping, more about a GG and getting better at the game. What most ppl forget, even when you get a "bad" team, you can AT LEAST get a black pip nearly every game. Don't forget to bring the best solo perk - Kindred. It gives you much information when you need it the most.
1 -
Yet people hate it because "winning" means you'll go up against more sweat lords.
I mean I watched FarmerJohn's video on it and it was just... urgh.

Solo is weak and frustrating. If you are playing at high ranks like 10+, you can still experience decent games, mostly because the Killer is bad. Once you get into Purple and Red Killers, better hope you have a decent team.

Luck.
It’s still terrible for me. Even in duos our other two will act as if their battery is running out.
