Punctured Muffler makes Billy a lot more enjoyable to play as
Base-kit Billy is difficult to enjoy at times because of how slow the heat dissipates. Punctured Muffler fixes that. It makes the chainsaw recharge at a rate of -5 c/s, from -3.5 c/s. Even with the brown Air Filter add-on he can still be difficult to enjoy.
This add-on was base-kit in the 4.1.0-4.1.1 patches but they nerfed Billy to make it cool down at -3.5 c/s. I started experimenting and played Billy with just this add-on and HOLY he is so much more enjoyable. From what it seems, using this add-on would only punish campers 95% of the time.
Ofc his animations are still annoying but hey, he's still 10 times more enjoyable with the add-on! If they won't remove overheat, I would them to make this add-on base-kit. Overheat has the potential to be a reasonable mechanic, as long as they buff Billy.

Drift add-ons are very fun!
...except whenever I get an indoor map, I feel constant pain. But yeah the Drift King is very fun.

Oh yeah without a doubt, but that brown addon reduces heat by A LOT. It's another perk where slightly doesn't mean slightly haha

Yeah, the overheat wasn't really a problem before they decided to nerf it for whatever reason.
I don’t even think it should be removed entirely, it should just prevent you from camping someone with the chainsaw 99ed and that's it.

Exactly, overheat has the potential to be a good mechanic.

My main problem is just how jank hit detection and survivor movement are. Curve around a wall? Nah, you actually wanted to collide with thin air. Backrev someone? Guess what, they unlocked the ability to teleport.

Yeah his hitboxes are quite weird.

All they had to do was implement a leatherface version of billy threatening the saw. With the consequence of holding it too long being that he will enter overheat.
The fact he generates heat whilst circling the map is a big no. But again its billy who cares right. Behaviour messed up taking an all time classic killer and deliberatly vandalising there killer even though 99% of survivor and killer players loved playing against him. Shame on behaviour.

Thinking about it, the sad reason is probably that they simply didn't want to bother reworking those stupid overheat add-ons to do something else, and just like Nurse with the blink recharge ones, they had to give you a reason to use them.

I guess that they didn't like a free killer being such a noob stomper; you can still see people overrate him to this day and even Almo has always whined about old Billy being too strong.
With that said, i will never understand why they went as far as gutting his add-ons on top of forcing a cooldown mechanic into a killer that just wasn't originally designed to have one in mind.
The Billy nerf overall is a mistery.
