Kate looked awful on the PTB. I really hope they are at least planning on adjusting her animations after all the feedback if they haven't made any changes yet.

Maybe the video was done on a previous build and not the one that goes live tomorrow?
(yeah naive and wishful thinking on my part, but especially for Kate, Meg and Feng the feedback was pretty much universal and I actually expect them to adjust those models/animations..)

They stripped the personality away out of some of them.
RIP Dwight's scared puppy eyes and Ace's hilarious smirk. BHVR as usual changing stuff that didn't need a change in the first place so you get these weird results.

I might be very old fashioned, but there is a reason why many changes get on my nerves.
Kate now looks awful, Quentin's personality is gone. And this list goes on.
Everything is bad.

I don't dislike all of the new models, but just like the map reworks, for me it's a case of the technology being better but the art is worse.

The new dwight looks like a guy who decided to live his life in his closet.
Watch the dbd launch trailer, and tell me it isn't a downgrade from how he looks in it.

I love them all except Meg's hair. I find them weird.
Outside of that, I can't wait tomorrow. Laurie is one of my favorite rework. I know it's an unpopular opinion, but Feng and Kate looks awesome with their rework.

At least they made Meg a ginger again, the first model was pretty much brunette or dirty blonde without any red hair..
and it seemed to me that Meg and Kate weren’t as angry looking in the new video compared to PTB, that was the only complaint I had for those two :)

You need to see her in game,not the still screenshots that have no animation applied. Her facial animations on PTB made her look permanently pissed off instead her usual "hopeful songbird" expression. Her nose is flared up and her eyebrows angled down like she's about to toss Meg on a hook for missing a skillcheck. They also removed her eye shadow.

All and all the remodels look fine, in my opinion,except Kate's...she looks mad, her lip gap now bothers me and her elbow.... now gives me nightmares.

Idk, after seeing the new trailer i think they all look good. I was uncertain on Kate and David, but i see what theyre going for, and they are an improvement

I think most of them look a little weird. Kate and meg look really angry all the time but not awful. David and dwight look really goofy. And feng looks absolutely horrendous.
But I have to agree with you that jake is in fact very hot

Well, I agree with your complaints, but... wouldn't you two be pissed if you were trapped in hell?
Some of the other characters look older as well, like they've been here for awhile and they're done with it.
Let's use Trapper as an example, when the game first came out and if he would let out a pained yell, a few years later they changed his audio to a "u r g h" like it hurt a decent amount, but you're more annoyed.
Now with this Trapper, if he steps in it, you'll hear nothing. Like he's just numb to it.
I can't defend Quentin's though, he just changed significantly

I don't believe in hell's existence. Getting trapped in another dimension would be much more intriguing than infuriating for me.
But leaving that aside, I liked Kate's idea of having hope even in the worst situations, and now...she looks weird.

This isn't about Christian hell, no I just meant that's what I imagine would happen if you were trapped in that plane of existence.

Yeah, but lore-wise Kate is a hopeful songbird that always tries to stay positive.
Benedict Baker even started to simp for her, because of her cheerful and beautiful voice at the campfire.
And to simply put this angry face in her makes no sense.

They shouldn't make every character have a permanent snarling animation when they're supposed to have distinct personalities that are reflected in their faces. Ace still has his smirk in game, albeit somewhat changed from before. Dwight still looks scared. Most of the others didn't change much in terms of the emotion in their facial expressions. This is why Kate's rework was so disliked on the PTB feedback forums. BHVR stated the goal was to update them without changing their "look". They went way off base with Kate and haven't responded to any of the criticism so far.

1.) Just an actual disgusted look
2.) More of a tired of your ######### look, like when you do something absolutely stupid and your friend isn't joking about how stupid you are and are actually mad at you. (This is the best I can explain, I'm sorry.)

It seems to me that a lot of the problem with the new models is their animations. It’s almost as if they used the old animation on top of a new 3D model that doesn’t fit them.
I wish the Art team would make their presence known so they could clarify for us. 😓

Kate's face overall is an improvement, its just Devs not working on their facial expression. I played PTB and Yui has her eye change, from angry look to sad look.

True, I thought the same thing when they started teasing the reworks. The still images with no animation looked good but the in-game previews looked...off. That said, most of them still have their old expressions for the most part. Kate definitely got the worst rework imo, but they could redeem it if they adjust the animation. Praying its not as horrific as it was on PTB D:

The rest looks better more or less. And as for Jake...dunno he looks better but its a completely different person now. If I would play him I would be mad but I dont play male survivors so whatever
