And... Trickster is DOA
The last minute 26% nerf to Trickster's Ammo is just what he needed to counteract the attempt to buff him. It removes any chances to snowball with knives and pretty much forces him to reload after every down.
Trickster's issue has always been time efficiency and with significantly less ammo and 50% faster laceration decay. I foresee a lot of Survivors getting away mid-chase because he runs out of blades and the reload gives them so much distance they fully decay before he can catch up.

I mean there was so much survivor crying that it is expected.

Expect some more "Trickster is OP" threads anyway.

When every topic while the ptb was active was about how OP Trickster was going to be, it's not surprising that BHVR decided to nerf him before putting him live.

Its gone from 8.5 damage states worth of knives to 7.33 damage states worth of knives, its not really that bad although its a 26.66% nerf to ammo he really only lost ~13% worth of damage states which isn't that bad

Let's wait until we see how he plays in Live.
Keep in mind that he still has 6 lacerations before an injury and without any slowdown between his throws.
Let's not get a kneejerk reaction here. Since admittedly his performance in the PTB was insane.

Actually it was 10 damage states (a buff compared to Live) to 7.33 (a nerf compared to Live).

The ptb isn't real, everything there is made up and the points don't matter

I dont think it was the correct Nerf.
They should have scrapped everything except for the Main Event Changes and tried again in another Update. With that change, they just nerfed his 1v4, because he has to reload more often (which in theory is not that bad, since he also does need less Knives to remove a Healthstate).
But I dont think that this was the Nerf needed.
Maybe I will change my opinion, but those are my initial thoughts.

PTB Trickster was crazy on the maps Live Trickster was crazy on (Autohaven and MacMillian)
But I noticed on Lerys (which was already a horrible Trickster map) that the blade decay actually hurt more than the extra knives helped.

This is under the assumption that said Trickster would hit every single knife he throws. This is still a substantial buff to his 1v1, and nobody can change my mind about that when he can over half of the knives he needs in a single vault animation.
Can we stop whining for like half an hour? Wait until people can actually play with the killer?

Trickster's spread and his handedness with his throws mean that its impossible to land all his knives because he isn't accurate except maybe at point blank range. Especially in high ranks where Survivors know this and alter their movement to counter his throw patterns (i.e. zig zagging in rhythm with his left and right handed throws).

Then why are you talking about health states? It doesn't matter if he can't aim accurately. You wanna know what most Tricksters are gonna do?
They're gonna down a single person, and then reload. Unless theirs another survivor close, in which case you can easily spam another health state if they're close enough. Is it a good nerf? No, they touched the wrong thing. But acting like this is going to ruin him is just wrong.
Unless we're forgetting that Huntress also has to reload after downing a single person too, right? And she's punished much, much worse for missing.

I'm not super surprised they nerfed his total knives. I don't know why they sledge hammered his ammo addons though. Like... at least let the brown add 1 health state and the green add 2. No... they went for 0.5 and 1.25 respectively.

I'm going to wait with my judgement on trickster adter i played against/with him
That said
If you with 44 knives have to reload after every chase which takes 12 blades then you are missing 75% of your shots.
Huntress would almost have to reload after every hit if she missed that much
At that point it's a player issue not a killer one

I just played trickster he’s fine he feels so much better and he’s fun to use now

don't worry, they'll probably change it soon enough. Remember when everybody was crying about Lucky Break? BHVR caved to people who never even used the perk themselves and BHVR quickly realized they didn't know what they were talking about.

Of course killer players are immediately sent into a panic by the fact that Trickster now has extremely mild resource management
He has literal dozens more knives than the amount he needs for a down, just have half-decent aim

Just bring out photocard and ripper brace

The changes were made before the PTB was live tho. By the time the PTB is released, BHVR has to send their current version to review for upload.
Besides, removing 2 knives from the original design, improving other addons. He's much more oppressive in chase right now, as those 2 knives difference can be the difference between 1 extra loop and not. He has higher fire rate, faster down rate, the laceration decay doesnt really affect him too much unless you let go of a chase. The only reason I can think of nerfing his ammo capacity, is due to Death Throes refilling your ammo after Main Event.
We'll have to see his current effects. Personally, they might up the knives to 50 but I am not sure. Something to note: trickster can keep on throwing knives after injure, faster than Nurse regains a blink, faster than Huntress can throw another hatchet, the only killer who can arguably down people faster in an open field than Trickster is Bubba. Let alone that Trickster having Main Event is 50x more deadly.
Trickster can kill faster and better. That was his biggest weakness. In return, he needs to reload more often. If he truly has issues with 44 knives, they will revert those changes in at most 3 months.

Yup this killer is still complete garbage. He offers nothing over Slinger and Huntress. What a waste of a killer spot.

Maybe I can stop seeing that travesty of a killer then.

There also seems to be no consideration here for how much more versatile Main Event will be from now on. Especially with only 6 knives to remove a health state, this makes Main Event quite strong.

Based on the reactions here, I'd say it's a good thing I got his Adept a couple days ago. Playing him back then was already miserable (this guy really needs to be updated for controllers, his problems aren't performance-related so that won't affect him).

As controversial as this idea might be, I think he needs some sort of minor auto aim.

Op than nerfed than op than nerfed trickster is a rollercoaster in devopment hell
