From a Caterpillar to a Beautiful Butterfly
I don't know about anyone else, but I'm starting to grow way thicker skin playing Killer to the point that I get a kick out of the toxic messages I receive.
Some of you might remember me as the shy and sensitive newbie Killer last year via this discussion:
Why I don't play Killer (RANT) — Dead By Daylight
And a lot of my positive and awesome community members giving me advice on how to tolerate the unnecessary abuse that comes with playing Killer.
I hope you all are proud of how far I've come & if you feel the same/have come far, I'm proud of you!🌸

Just thought I'd share ;x

I'm happy that you're enjoying killer. Killer is a blast to play, even if it's stressful and painful at times.
As someone with social anxiety, I'm tired with people saying "it's just words on the screen, move on." Is it really that hard to understand that not everyone is the same mentality-wise? Death threats and hate messages can seriously hurt a person mentally. And the crazy thing is that people do this, sending death threats, slurs, and hate speech, over a ######### video game. Over Dead by Daylight.
When I first started playing DBD I was very shy and afraid of playing killer because I wouldn't have teammates this time, I was alone. I was also afraid of toxicity in the endgame chat. I grew onto it and was able to see that even though there were sometimes the bad eggs, there were also the wholesome moments every now and then!
I'm more afraid of playing DBD in solo queue because I fear of what my teammates think of me if I do something -2 IQ. I guess since I'm an introvert I like to do things alone, which is why I play killer better than surv.
I wish you luck on your killer adventures, and I hope you'll find your main killer (unless you main variety, lol)! 💜
Sorry, I'm not very good at concluding.

I was the same back in 2017 tbh...overtime killer got a lot more fun to me as I stopped getting bothered by the toxic stuff. Glad you are enjoying it now.

I absolutely understand where you’re coming from. I also suffer from social anxiety & I love to be by my lonesome so playing Killer is definitely my fortè.
Thank you so much for the positive words at the end ^.^
I hope you enjoy your future games & wish you luck as well!!! 💜

Thats exactly how it is for me now. Now that I actually want to play Killer and enjoy it, the toxicity does nothing anymore.
I hope you continue to enjoy Killer 💜

I used to have really negative reactions to hate messages. But over time I've learned that arguing with these people is a waste of time so I just started trolling them. My mindset on hate mail has changed a lot in the last year and a half lol.

Lol I do the exact same thing. To make it worse for them, I’ll say something trolly and them block em’.
I’m pretty sure that restricting them from responding pisses them off even more and hopefully teaches them a lesson not to message the Killer (highly doubt it, but yeah).

Yes, i do feel a bit proud of you.
I barely know you, so i can only say a bit. 😋
But it's good to have some thicker skin, because certain forms of negativity not being allowed doesn't mean that it won't happen, and having that thicker skin helps in such a situation.
Y'know, hope for the best, prepare for the worst. That kinda thing.
