I Never Understanding End Game DCs

Early game dcs understandable. Maybe you thought they are good and you did not wanted play anymore, okey!

But man, why dc on end game? Game already near to finish. Why you wanna lose your points? If you don't wanna wait anymore, go and open one of the gates and start egc. And stay afk somewhere. If survivors wait for t-bag, egc will push them to leave. When you dc, survivors already winning escape points, you are only one who is losing everything.

This is same for survivors. Some survivors dc'ing when they are dead on hook. You will die already, why you are just wanna lose your points? You think killer will not get points when you dc? No, killer will still get kill points even you dc.

I never understand this mentality. This is not makes any sense.

I’d assume it’s some sort of petty justification in people’s mind where they think if the killer doesn’t kill them then they didn’t lose. Idk, don’t think I’ll ever really get it either.

Some people just have weird ways of coping for their frustration, I guess? I never understood it either, but it is what it is, I guess lol

Some people may crash. That's one explanation, especially after 5.0.0 and the midchapter not fixing a lot of issues. Can't account for everything though, so it's most likely about sending a message. "This ######### happened in this specific match which has made me not want to play anymore, devs. Fix it." Because BHVR have access to the entire logs of the game.

I wouldn't suggest this statement of sending a message since it only works if performed en-Masse for months at a time

"If I DC it means I didn't lose because it's not dying, it's just me leaving because of X dumb I just made up."

That about it really. I'd guess this probably goes in their heads when they do it.

The times I see a killer quit mid/late match is when we absolutely wreck him in gens and avoiding being taken down (i play solo queue). It seems more out of frustration. it could be a new killer he is testing out.

The times I see survivors disconnecting mid/late game is when they also get wrecked when I play killer.

I also think it's a case of being spiteful and denying me sacrifice points and/or a proper 4k. ie) DCing when I pick them up when they are on their 2nd hook state

I'm glad DC penalties are back.

I think some people their game crashed at bad time.

For survivor I don't think it's so much about denying killer points - I'm sure some do it for this reason but I've seen other reasons on survivor side to DC late game. I've seen people say they don't like sitting through the sacrifice animation so that's why they DC when on 3rd hook. Most I think are using DCing just before that hook as strategy - prevent killer from seeing auras if using BBQ, if doors are open it's to prevent Bloodwarden from activating, or in some cases to give last survivor hatch.

Killers I always found it weird they would DC at end because unlike survivors there's no gameplay advantage to a DC. I've had so many that DC when the door opens if they didn't get a sacrifice or survivors prevented their NOED. Think might be ones that only play killer and think they're preventing survivors from getting escape points by quitting before survivors leave.

The sheer frustration from not winning hide-and-seek game Scary Monster Edition™️ causes them to reflexively DC everytime.

I don't understand any purposeful DC.

This. Efff the BPs if the annoyance and/or frustration becomes too big. Apparently not all care about a purely virtual currency enough to endure more of what made them quit.

And whatever some potential chestbeater is now going to claim, no, you can't force people to continue playing if they absolutely don't want to. Not going to happen, it's a game, not their friggin' job.

Because in the end, the DC is just the symptom of a cause that may very well be inherent to the game design (or their fellow players at this moment), flawed or not.

For survivors DC’ing on death hook, I can only think maybe they didn’t want the killer to get that kill.

If the player is on Switch, 99% chance it's not on purpose. It's not uncommon for DbD on Switch to crash at the end of the match. Frustrating as [BAD WORD]ing hell.

🤷‍♀️ If someone wants to lose out on BP and eat a DC penalty because they don't want to sit through the sacrifice animation after they've been tossed on the hook it doesn't bother me. Killer got their hook/sacrifice points and it's not going to open hatch any faster because animation is still playing in game, so really no reason to get upset with someone punishing themself.

The most confusing are the people who DC literally as the entity's carting them up.

You lose all your points that game, give me the hook AND quitter points, the satisfaction of knowing you're assmad, for.. what, saving 5 seconds?
