PvZ: Battle for Neighborville.
Who else plays this?
I’ve had a long hiatus from this game, and I’ve recently jumped back in to it.
I’m reminded just absurd and hilarious this game is. Such good fun.

Isn't neighborville the worst in in the series? i always heard GW2 was the gilded gem of the 3 games

Ive always thought those games looked like hella fun but never jumped the gun to buy it

Wife and I are always on the lookout for split screen co-op games (PS4). We’ve seen this, but haven’t bought because we’re unsure whether it’s too juvenile or fun for adults.

If you got PS+ it’s free for a month from August 3rd.
(Edit: poorly worded. I mean it’s one of August free games. Not free to play only for one month.)

No way. I’ve played all of them. BFN is the most robust one of the lot. So much to do. Great fun.

Oh I’m really glad you told me that! It’s on sale again right now and we’ve been discussing it. There would’ve been some severe buyer’s remorse if we purchased and then found it in our free offerings on Tuesday!

No problem 👍🏻

I wish I liked it but for me it lacks a lot of what made me like the first 2 games: character variants, sticker packs, totally different alternate abilities, each class having a distinct role, the overall gameplay loop being fun and really addicting, among other things. Despite fully leveling up many of the characters and playing a lot of both the singleplayer and multiplayer in battle for neighborville I never truly felt like I was into the game or like I really wanted to keep playing. I kept playing waiting for the magic from the first 2 to happen but it never really did. I find it kind of hard to look at it as a proper sequel, it feels more like a spinoff of the og garden warfare games than a true successor, for lack of a better way to put it
I mostly played for a period of time following the release, I'm sure they've added some stuff to the game that I haven't checked out yet but the core fundamentals of the game probably haven't changed enough to truly renew my interest in it to the same level of interest that I had for the garden warfare games

I have it and It's a shame that it no longer receives support because I was looking forward for better changes and more plant characters. It's pretty fun, but it gets pretty stale after several matches. It did give some good QOL changes from GW2, but I think the GW's shined a better light onto the multiplayer shooter genre for the PvZ franchise.
Also I lost all my progress from PvZ 2 and even though I contacted support and gave me most of my plants, they have not given back all of the ones that required intense grinding. So I'm still salty about that and leaves me a bad taste from EA games, bc yk... its EA

Garden warfare 2 was my jam but BFN was kinda bad imo

Don't even remind me of this game.
I loved GW 2, played as much as I could. BFN was a huge disappointment for me.
First F13, and now GW 2? We have a lot in common, my friend ;)

Damn really? BFN kinda got rid of the charm with the new art style and lack of character variants so I always stuck to GW2 like a lot of people

But of course! I play GW 2 since 2018 (like DBD, actually).
And when I played BFN for the first time...my disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined.

i really like the focused nature of each character/class in bfn. I like that customisation comes from cosmetics and unlocking character specific perks. I found all the character variants of gw2 a bit overwhelming, and was probably a balancing nightmare.

I’m actually excited by what I see here. I haven’t played any, so when BFN goes free tomorrow, I can start here and then have the GW ones to look forward to later!

It’s completely absurd. But it also has real depth to it. Very fun. Gets you smiling and laughing at its attention to detail.

Not really. BFN isn’t really balanced either tbh (Steam blaster scientist is a great example)

I don’t disagree. There are a few things that feel extremely OP. Space Cadet slam is annoying. Feel like there’s nothing I can really do. Same when Super Brainz manages to get in your face unnoticed: can’t do anything.
