Can we get a pig buff?
She felt so much more powerful back then but now she just gets rolled over in my games. Other killers tend to be more consistent. Anybody got any ideas for a possible buff.

The lead balance designer, from what I know, believes Pig is a very strong killer and that the community's consensus on her strength is inaccurate, so it's unlikely that she'll be receiving any significant buffs.

Bhvr are number crunchers. Pig performs very well with the kill rates. So in their mind those stats say Pig is in a good spot.

Unfortunately we probably won't be seeing a Pig buff. An add-on pass will likely happen, but no Pig buff since Almo thinks she's good as she is right now because sTaTiStIcS. I disagree with this because of her low skill floor (she has a high skill cap with ambush however) and her busted purple add-ons.

Lol remember when they nerfed her? Remember when they thought that a low mid/low tier killer was strong enough to warrant a nerf? I don't think they'll be buffing her any time soon unfortunately.

This was something they tested on a PTB, but scrapped it. For the better.

IMO Pig does not really need a straight up Buff. She is a solid Killer. But, this is coming from someone who plays (or rather played, I did not touch her that much anymore) her a lot.
What she needs is an Add On Pass and MAYBE some love to her Crouch and Dash when it comes to her Basekit. Add Ons which should be reworked:
Busted ones-->Namely Tampered Timer in Combination with Crate of Gears or Jigsaws Sketch which makes it impossible to search all Boxes
Add Ons which promote an unhealthy playstyle-->Like Exhaustion and Mangled only promote Tunneling, because you know that this Survivor does not have an Exhaustion Perk at this point or will most likely not be healed when you return to the Hook due to Mangled
Add Ons which dont work like they did when released-->Workshop Grease, Razor Whire (increase Skill Check Odds, bad Add Ons since Lullaby and Unnerving stopped affecting Box Skill Checks... And this was changed years ago), Interlocking Razor (increases the Penalty by A LOT, but since the change I mentioned before, this only affects newer Survivors and does not bother experienced players)
Also, I really hate this Hemorrhage Add On, it should be Basekit, the person has a Trap attached to their Jar, they should bleed more.
Add Ons should mainly add to her Dash and Crouch, like increased Movement Speed while crouching (Ghostface has it, so no reason why Pig should not have it). Or maybe an Add On which adds 2 Extra Traps. Or, I always wanted to have an Add On which makes it that the Key is always in the last Box, but the Timer is increased tremendously (to a point where you basically cannot die from the Trap), just to have maximum Slowdown.
(This would be a pink Add On and I would push Amandas Letter to purple and remove Amandas Secret completely)
But yeah, overall, I think her Base Power is fine when it comes to Traps. Some people want to buff her Traps, but I also feel that sometimes players think that she only has Traps as her Power and Crouch and Stealth dont really exist. And I am also not in favor for RNG-Kills, they dont really feel rewarding, sure, a Head-Pop is funny, but it does not really feel earned IMO.

Yeah Pig is bad in red ranks it does not take a long time to write down all killers that are worse than Pig: Trapper.
I don't play Trickster so can't say if he's better or worse. But Pig do need buffs at least as much as Wraith did.

I respect Almo's opinions on Pig but I simply don't agree. Some or all of the following changes need to be made:
Survivors' ability to see Jigsaw Boxes should be stunted until trap activation as BASE KIT, not as iri addon.
Survivors should NOT be able to remove the trap until the timer starts. How can one play the Game when it hasn't even begun?
Remove survivors ability to see how much time they have left. This could be base kit or a rare or iri addon. Either way is fine. Slowdown the timer to balance, but speedup the beeping just to make them panic, therefore capturing the intensity of a Saw trap.
Broaden RNG. Trap should almost NEVER come off first try.
Buff Amanda's letter. Extend the range of the aura reading ability. Balance by shortening ambush distance and removing all RBTs, remove jigsaw boxes as well.
Decrease the amount of addons that effect RBTs, add more that change stealth and ambush.
Boop physics. Squash that snoot.
RBTs should have more than one timer trigger. Being healed and unhooking other survivors come to mind. Killer stuns as well.
Remove survivors ability to leave the match by gate or by hatch with RBT on their head, active or not. Add Jigsaw box just outside gate thats only useable during EGC that guarantees removal, to balance.

This is what happen when a lead balance designer is a bad player or don't really know the game in which he works. Any experienced player say the pig is a low tier killer, almost every experienced streamer say the pig need buffs, the same with the forum community.
I used to main the pig time ago, but I got sick of her RNG related to traps, when two or more survivors remove the traps in their first attepmt, which happen very frequently feels so unsatisfactory, also the dash being so bad due how slow it is doesn't help the killer performance.

If you can explain. How was pig in the past when she first came out and what warranted the nerf.

She had 28 meters terror radious and the RBTs had to be removed before leaving the map through gates even if the countdown wasn't on (a leave through the hatch was still possible). She was an unique killer due this, because she was the only killer which can negate a gate scape at the end withouth using any perk (Blood warden).
After the endgame collapse change they made possible an escape if the trap isn't in the countdown.
Imo even with the EGC enabled a survivor shouldn't have to be able to leave through gates as before even without countdown, some people may think "but it's unfair due the countdown of the EGC", maybe, but making it slower like when a survivor is hooked or downed should be enough, also, if the RNG punish so much the pig he need some RNG beneficts, simply bad luck for the survivor, good luck next time. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Also, related to lore, in Saw films a victim cannot leave the game until playing the game ( when the game means removing the trap), being less lore friendly than before.

I used to main her, but with all of these changes, I'd love to main her again.
Pig never really felt like I'm making the survivors play the Game. This would change that.

I would love a pig buff. Currently my only chance to do well with her at red ranks is bringing devour hope and praying it survives

I think Pig is a pretty fair killer to go against. Then again, I stay usually in green ranks (I do plug pull often too so...idk...I am probably a high green/low purple skill level) so maybe she does suffer in like high purple or red ranks...I can't think of many ways to buff Pig. Her ambush is good, her bear traps add another secondary objective on top of totems. All I could think of is MAYBE a slightly lower timer on traps? That might break her in lower ranks though.

That's always been my personal vision for pig. To have her stand apart from other Killers by making the match truly different from the usual run, loop, gen, repeat.

But unfortunately its just the same old loop, pallet, vault, deadhard, slide, repeat. Oh I have a trap on my head? Stealth around for a few seconds instead of doing gens guys, im gonna get some extra points by removing the non-pressuring mechanic on the second try, thus nullifying half the killer's functionality.

She hasn’t really been nerfed though, she’s almost the same as she was on release.
1) The TR change was to make her more in line with other 115% killers
2) The RBT nerf was because of the endgame collapse, it wasn’t because the devs thought “screw it, let’s nerf her”. It would be unfair if EGC was 50% done then you had an activated trap placed on your head.

Endgame pig was the only thing that made her viable and it was a unique and intense playstyle. All the rbt timer change did was make endgame pig worse therefore making her worse and ruining the most effective build on the killer. It wasn't op and wouldn't be op with endgame.

Someone already answered but basically the reverse bear trap used to explode in the exit game regardless of the timer being activated or not. Pretty sure when end game collapse came out that's when they made it to where it only explodes in gates if the timer is activated. So basically they ruined endgame pig, which was the most effective way to play her for a while and overall removed a lot of pressure from her late/end game.

i dont think she needs any buffs to her traps, traps shouldnt get a head pop in an average game, they should be more of a slowdown
