99% the gate does survivors more harm than good??

2 reason's to 99 the gate; give's you more time to mount a rescue attempt, and protection against blood warden.

If you need more time to rescue a hooked survivor, it ain't gonna happen anyways. It'll be a trade at best.

If you want protection against Blood warden, that's pointless to. If the killer has BW, 60 sec. will long elapse while you and your teammates try and rescue.

I've been screwed over by gates that were 99% after being rescue, or a teammate being screwed over. Of course It's hard to say if having the extra time helped of not with the gates at 99% since im only looking at my vantage point.

99% gates in the vast majority of cases provides more benefits than not. If you have any resemblance of teamwork it is always better!

I suppose you guys are right than. It just feels so ######### when you get royally screwed over because a gate was 99. If only it was open I would have lived. etc..

It's situational and certainly more effective in SWF than solo.

If it's a full healthy squad then it's fine as long as someone is close by to open the gate/take a hit should the need arise after a rescue. Trying to coordinate that in solos is pretty rough though. Having Kindred to see what everyone is doing can help a lot to try and understand the best play.

If someone is dead then it's often more beneficial to open the gate before making the attempt since it's less likely someone will be there to open it after. Again, for solo's at least.

Also, you should always reconsider 99-ing against a Trapper. That can sometimes lead to bad consequences even with a full team. Certainly not mentioning that from personal experience or anything.

I think first it's a good move to 99ing the exitgate when no one is being chased there right now. But I think it's usually important that the person also stays at the exit and observes the situation, so that he can open if necessary and still then take a hit.

As a survivor, there is hardly anything more frustrating than coming to an exit gate injured and chased, and then dying just because no one is there to open it.

It's a little different when someone has just been hung up. Then it can make sense, depending on how many survivors are still in the game, to open the exitgate before the rescue.

The only time a 99 did me more harm was when I was slugged 5m from the gate and the killer chased someone else to the other side of the map slugged them, then got in a chase with the last person alive and slugged them. If the gate had been open it would have been a guaranteed 2E since I was on death hook anyway. And that was almost 2 years ago now...

99ing the gates is rarely a bad thing, it's only bad in really close calls and even then it's usually easy to see when a close call is coming and in that case you can open the door a few seconds ahead of time.

I hate people doing that. "BuT mOrE tImE" - Yea. I can count way more games where I got ######### up by 99% exit gates than only 1 game where it worked. If the timer is at zero or halfway through doesn't matter. And I'm gonna be honest as solo survivor. If the killer is facecamping and he also has a good basekit for doing so I'll just leave instead of risking even more kills.

The game is all about time efficiency. If you 99%, it borrows the killer even more time to bait and kill you. If you need more than 2-3 minutes (average) to get your team out after the exits got opened: Just accept the outcome of the match?
