Experimenting with a Wraith Build and Want some input please

Hey all, I'm trying to main wraith, only been playing him for a few days and I'm trying to figure out a decent build that doesn't run the standard undying, ruin combo. Reason being partially because I don't have those perks and partially because I just personally don't like the RNG of Hex builds.

The build I'm planning to try is Thanatophobia, Sloppy Butcher, A Nurses Calling and Franklin's Demise.

The idea would be to play very hit and run and only commit to a chase when I can be certain that I can down quickly. However I don't know if this can really work since I just haven't played wraith in quite literally years.

Anyone have input on how it could work or have any alternate suggestions?

One thing I did consider is replacing Franklin's with Corrupt Intervention for some early game delay

I would definitely consider replacing Franklin's, unless they all have medkits. In which case, I'd replace Nurse's. It's not that hard as Wraith to find Survivors healing, even without it.

I’d call against nurses because if you want aura reading the wraith’s “All seeing blood” add on is much better. I’d replace it with pop goes the weasel or Make your choice

If you are doing a hit and run franklins won't do much good because if you switch targets after injuring them they only lose ~5% of their items charges which while it can be useful its not really using the perk to its full effectiveness

With that in mind I think you should replace it with a perk like mindbreaker or blood echo that way people are more vulnerable while you are doing hit and run because they will be exhausted

My current build is, Corrupt Intervention, Bbq, Surge, and Nurse's.

Thanks for all the responses thus far, I see the point that Franklin's is just not good for a hit and run, I think I'll replace it with corrupt intervention to prevent early game gen's popping off.

I'm a little surprised at Pop being recommended, I've tried it on Wraith but I keep finding I can't find the generator in time to actually pop it

Running a perk like BBQ or Thrilling Tremors will give you the info as to what generator is being worked on and where you need to go to use Pop, in my experience.

The build I've been using on Wraith has been Corrupt (to stall the early game a little), Pop (for gen regression), Make Your Choice, and BBQ. MYC is the key component -- after you get a hook and get away from it (optimally to chase survivors off of another gen and Pop it), someone will get a rescue and be exposed. As Wraith, you can get back to the hook quickly to down the rescuer in one shot and start the cycle again. You have to pay close attention to the scream to make sure the rescuer is someone at full health -- if they're not and you're in a chase with someone else who's injured, then it's better to commit to where you're at. That said, it's amazing how many times I go back and catch the healthy MYC target healing someone right under hook for an easy down.

I'll run the Bone Clapper to alter the bell sounds and a movement speed add-on. If you run the Coxcombed Clapper (silent bell) and the All-Seeing add-on (aura readings within 12 meters when cloaked), it's an even more ridiculously oppressive build. Even without running those two add-ons, I do really well against Red Ranks with this loadout. Survivors who are really good loopers and know how to utilize pallets and strong tiles to waste time while their teammates pound out gens are this killer's weakness, but most teams can get crushed in a hurry if they're careless.

its more of after hanging, you can quickly get to a gen to pop when needed. you got mad speed with the wraith.

I know @Boss is a Wraith main. Maybe he could give you some advice.

I personally run Pop, Ruin, Save, and BBQ. A good thing about Wraith is that he's extremely flexible with build options.

    Nah, OP's looking for a hit-and-run build.

    I don't do those.

Thanks for the tag though, i love seeing someone think of me when it comes to Wraith stuff. 😜

I'm running a hex build and am having a lot of fun with it.

    Hex: Devour Hope

    Hex: Haunted Ground

    Hex: Undying

    BBQ

    All seeing blood

    Coxcombed Clapper or Bone Clapper

Survivors have a 60% chance of cleansing Haunted Ground or Undying from the beginning. If they get HG first, then Undying goes but HG still activates. After that you have a 66% chance of them cleansing HG a 2nd time. Get 3 Devour Hope stacks and then start going to town. If you have Undying up still, then the game is probably in your favor. Aura reading so you don't need Whispers and BBQ is for long distance reading and to get there out of devour hope range ASAP.

My build is Nurses Calling, Whispers, PGTW, and Hex: Ruin

My Addons are: Blind Warrior - White and Swift Hunt - Blood

This is IMHO, Wraith's strongest build.
