Slugging vs first hook
I'm interested to know what criteria you guys use to judge, upon getting the first down, whether to hook, or slug.
If a hook was very close by, the chase didn't take too long, and no gens were done, I'd typically go for the hook. But if I know survivors are close by (e.g. infectious fright activates, or saw survivors nearby during the chase) I'll continue applying pressure.
Then of course it probably makes sense for different Killers and on different maps.
Oftentimes after a string of bad losses I have gone into games with the intention of not hooking at all and just hardcore slug, half of the time these games lead to a quick victory, so I feel like I should incorporate slugging more into my normal playstyle.

Down survivor 1>see survivor 2>slug survivor 1
Down survivor 1>don't see survivor 2>hook

I find that in general it's better to hook a downed survivor unless there's another survivor in the immediate area you can chase or know where the other survivors are in general.
Basically as long as you aren't just slugging the survivor and wandering the map, slugging is a good option. Because slugging is weaker pressure than a hook (longer time to die and downed survivor can crawl to safer areas for pick up). Without having pressure applied on another survivor slugging becomes worth less than a hook.

If you are sure you can quickly down the other survivor, go for the other survivor. This way, you have two to three people off of gens, the slug, the one you're chasing and the potential rescuer if they're not gen rushing. If they're close to strong loops, I'd just hook.

Well Ive been playing Twins a lot and its just slug constantly. Downed another survivor on the other side of the map slug with victor to babysit them. Downed a survivor near you slug and make someone give Victor an involuntary piggyback. Downed someone as charlotte leave them there and use Victor to find injured people. In a lot of my games I only get like 6 hooks because I hook 1 or 2 survivors then get a 4 man slug,

Yeah Twins seem to excel at slugging, didn't lose a game with them yet, even using practically no perks (although that could also be down to having no MMR for that Killer and getting new survivors?)
Makes sense!
