How do you flick?
I just can't get the hang of it, and it's incredibly frustrating to me. On PC here. Both with Oni and Blight, whom I really want to get into them, but I just can't figure out how to flick the hits. I miss most of my chases with this, leaving me an M1 killer much of the match. Oni just smacks whatever's in front of him, and Blight drifts before smacking.
I try a quick flick of the mouse, but it doesn't work, aside from once in a blue moon. It's odd, as I can see the flick with Pyramid Head, but not these two. I really can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong here. What's the timing here?

I mostly go by muscle memory on the timing itself, but I believe it's a simultaneous click and flick for best results. If you're unable to get enough flick, consider increasing your DPI or in-game mouse sensitivity if possible.
For the specific characters, I pre-turn a bit depending on the flick:
Oni- you can get a 180 degree flick with a very high DPI (3400+) or by looking up while you initiate the lunge flick. For whatever reason, looking straight up when you start the dash lunge more or less uncaps the turn limit.
Blight- to achieve a 180 with his current turn rate limit, the timing is flick-attack-flick. You'll need to split the big flick into two smaller flicks with the attack in the middle. I bind turning to Q and E on Blight and use Q and E to turn until I'm just about to bump, then I attack/flick.

You'll need an adequate mouse pad to make it easier. But mostly just choose a sensitivity you like best.
Then at the end of your dash or lunge just turn fast towards the target.
Just practice it and you'll get the feel for it. After awhile you won't even need to premediate your hits, it'll just be natural.

Meanwhile trying to flick with a controller on PC lol

i know you wont get banned but isint flicking as blight considered an non bannable exploit...

I can decently flick with Oni but still have a long way to go with Blight. I am on controller tho

With Blight:
When you are in a rush your movement direction goes to your look direction at your turn rate, however when you attack, you movement direction is instantly updated to your look direction.
So then to flick, you must look where you want to flick, attack, then after you attack you have a little room to adjust some more.
So to pull off the really far flicks, turn camera, attack, turn camera more.

Who on Earth gave you that idea? How is it exploiting anything?

its intentionally going over his set turn rate by many different means, that's an exploit, but they said they wont ban it, there still trying to fix it I believe

They already fixed the ability to surpass his turn cap.
The ability to flick is intentional. McLean has said so on stream.
Here's a clip from back before the J flick was patched explaining it.
Keep in mind that was 5 months ago and has been fixeed.
Here's even a clip of Mclean doing a 90 degree flick, so clearly intentional

I tried Blight on my Xbox but with the barious frame issues and the cam turning a bit slower than moving your character I cannot build up any reliable muscle memory, let alone flick. Even at the max controller sensitivity.
Incidentally to our PC cousins out there, the different speeds of swinging our cam and swinging our character is the main reason is consolers look behind us way less often. As far as I can tell they're practically the same swing speed on PC.
