Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Are more killers using lightborn these days?

Some friends wanted to play swf last night. I started doing some challenges and I got to the one that says "Flashlight blind a killer 4 times". I swear half the killers I ran into were running lightborn. I wasn't even using a flashlight most of those matches. I was running blast mine. Is it just me or since Leon/Jill came out, more killers are using lightborn?

I run lightborn when there's a lot of flashlights and then I run it when there's none because I forget to switch it off.

I never use it anymore. If I see 4 flashlights I bring franklins. If I down someone I either face a wall or fake the pick up to hit the person waiting for the flashlight save.

I do that anyway so they don't think I have lightborn and keep trying. I mainly just like the free hits and auras

2 or more flashlights is lobby = lightborn ^^

The blind effect physically hurts my eyes so I've been running it anytime I see a Jill in my lobby or more than one flashlight.

For whatever reason, yeah. I've seen a huge increase in Lightborn. Flashlights are countered with basic mechanics, so I'm not sure why so many killers are dedicating a perk slot to it. In much the same way that SWF gives free perk slots, looking at walls and having decent game sense gives Lightborn. I can understand it if someone has an issue with the blindness effect itself though.

It's strange because I have seen the same thing and last game I vs a Trapper who had Lightborn and none of us had a flashlight so, very weird.

But that challange is stun or blind right? Because I did the challange doing only pallet stuns and one DS.

I think it is stun/blind, yes. I was just going for flashlight blinds because I felt I had a little more control over that vs a pallet stun.

Flashbang and blast mine have probably caused it.

I've been equipping Lightborn 100% of the time since not long after dedicated servers went live. It never mattered if there were flashlights in the lobby or not.

If killers see torches in the lobby, then if it's to hand it would be prudent for them to consider Lightborn. It may not be that most killers use it regularily. Moreover they're more aware of tactics going into a trial.

I'd agree with that, even whenever there's only 1 flashlight.

It's actually quite dumb imo to run Lightborn. All you do is tell survivors to stop risking their lives for a blind and just work on gens. Personally if I bring a flashlight and a killer has Lightborn I just go through the gens fast just because I want to move onto the next game.

I think it makes more sense running Fire Up. ######### up timing but still encourages survivors to keep trying for the save. Infectious Fright is also 10x better than Lightborn.

Ever since the Resident Evil chapter introduced flash bangs and flash mines, lightborn has proven to be far more beneficial than it ever has before. I use it on my killers because the aura detection will last longer than the blind itself, and being able to make a beeline straight for the person that blinded you on the generator or the flashbang is quite effective!
