Is this a bannable offense?

Member Posts: 1,623

So I have no video proof because I really was angry but... I have seen videos of it, so pretty sure you will know what I am talking about.

Is it bannable when you as a killer chase a survivor that seems to be going forward but when you get close enough for you it seems like that survivor dissapear? I'll try to find a video of a youtuber who uses it.

It's a survivor-side lagswitch, displayed quite well in this video by Scorpionz

EDIT: And to OP, yes this is bannable if repeated, convenient, and it seems like the survivors are exploiting this (ie using No Mither).

This sounds like Lag or Desync. Basically, the player is sending information to the Server. If the information is interrupted, the Server will use the latest input, which would be "running forward" for the Survivor.

If said Survivor regains Connection, the Server will adjust, meaning that the Survivor will be on their actual position afterwards, which makes them "disappear" from the previous location the Killer saw.

If this is happening convenient and frequently, it might be something fishy. But most of the time it is an actual technical problem (and I can tell you from my own experience, it is annoying as Survivor as well, because from the Survivor perspective, the Killer becomes unreadable as well).

I've gone against that hack. It's bannable, but you need video proof, also because it must be discerned from instances of simply poor connection.

I have found a video of true talent finding a guy like that:

Thanks guys, it really annoyed me when they mocked me on main chat due to using this uhmm hack let's call it. Needless to say I was having a bad day already and was not feeling in the mood to tolerate BS.
