Meg's problematic hair is even worse now! :)
Instead of dead by daylight removing Meg's cornrows cosmetic they just decided to change the name of the head piece it was called "race cornrows" and now it's been changed to "braids. My favorite part is just how they thought no one was going to notice because they decided not to say anything about the name change at all. If the devs see this. Go ahead explain yourself.

Oh boy... here we go.

Wait what, is this, a cultural appropriation thread ? Surely not, I mean meg's a fictional character, what am I not understanding.
10 -
If the description didn't change clearly the name wasn't meant to be interpreted as race but more the sport of racing. Really not that big of a deal although they should have just kept the name cornrows because that's what it is.
This really feels like a non issue to be honest.
Also are you upset that Meg who isn't a person of color is using cornrows?
That would be the same as if I - a gay person - Would get upset if a non gay person were using the rainbow LGBQT charms in game without being gay.
They are representing me and my life and for the hair they are representing the culture and history behind it. Get over yourself.

Meg was condemned to spend an eternity getting maimed and killed in gruesome ways.
Let girlie have this one.

@Razorbeam Fictional or not a white girl shouldn't have cornrows.

Its hair
14 -
But why?
9 -
Because divide and conquer worked really well.

It's a hairstyle those with medium-long hair use in sports because it's a useful style when working out or competing. If you watch a women's UFC match it's a popular hairstyle for the fighters. Meg is sporty, she has a hairstyle used often by women of all races in sports.

This is like how my father doesn’t want me to have a ponytail because I am a dude, its a hair style, whats wrong with that
14 -
That is the most ignorant thing I have ever heard, if you got a problem with it in real life then fine, but when it comes to the world of fantasy and creation and imagination everyone should be able to be anything and express themselves in anyway they see fit within a videogame on the condition it's not causing actual harm or promoting hate.
Your ignorance looks no different than harmful ignorance when you go to such extremes to find problems. All races should have access to all haircuts in a video game and expression should not be limited and you should leave the real world bs at the door.
4 -
Get out of here with that crap. Absolutely nothing wrong with it in a game or in rl.
16 -
Explain urselves devs!

You honestly shouldn't even be giving the dude a foot to stand on saying ah just let it go in the video game.
No this ######### is why we still have people being divided over the dumbest ######### ######### ever. I'm sick of people like Mr. Fresh Account with not even 10 post clearly made the account to spread bs or troll. Don't say it's only okay in just video games it's a ######### hair cut. I bet OP only knows very little history about the hairstyle and just came on the forums to racebait.
Let's say we humor OP - Okay what happens then?
Does every race start slowly taking things away from other races if they didn't invent them or if it didn't originate from their culture or history? Do you know how bad that would be and stupid? This is the mindset OP has. It's not even thoughtful discussion it's just "white girl have hairstyle bad" and they even say that in one of their post. Such a tasteless thing to even give a foot to stand on. You give these people an inch and they take a mile. They're not worth giving a platform because they misrepresent everyone else.
You think I'd want someone like OP representing me as a gay person? Imagine someone coming on the forums and being all like straight survivors / killers shouldn't have access to this charm.
And again to clarify and it's nothing personal but when you said "if you got a problem with it in real life then fine"
Don't enable this dude - If he's genuine saying stuff like that just enables them.

The problem is once you open up the conversation to the broader topic on a forum like this there's no win condition and it creates a situation that could go on for a 1000 pages where no side backs down and nothing is accomplished which is why I find it easier to stay on point, which is cultural appropriation in a video game and the limitation of expression in a fictional character, which is self evidentially stupid.

Fair point - I'm just going to dip from this thread.
Won't lie I've seen some stupid threads on this forum but this one takes the cake. Usually keep my cool but must be one of those nights. Have a good one.
4 -
Hey man it happens to us all, have a good one.
1 -
You too - Sorry if I came off as rude I won't even deny it thread got me heated.
You enjoy the rest of your night.

meg can rock any hairstyle she wants
even the mohawk

I spent like 2 minutes searching what was wrong with hair thinking it was about a bug. Then I read the comments...
Dude, go complain on Twitter or something.
13 -
maybe not a ponytail but get those viking braids
0 -
Oh my this is so important
4 -
....what did I just read?
1 -
Only problematic about all of this is you
5 -
Cry about it
2 -
Why would they lose their fw status for something literally in the game? How does that make sense in any fashion?

Culture is meant to be shared anyone who doesn't think this wants their culture to die. And to be clear there is a massive difference between sharing or appreciation of a culture and mocking it(which is pretty much never okay).

i physically can’t believe a real human is here posting a rant about pixel mesh hair
0 -
I'm surprised more people don't realize what's going on here. I don't believe I'm the only one.
1 -
I can't believe people are still taking the bait lmao
1 -
A very very very very very tiny fraction of people genuinely think like that, but it's extremely obvious when it's not someone like that. The reason why you think more people believe this is because people like OP, who don't, act like they do.
1 -
We're feasting out here.
2 -
I assure you that's not the case, the opinion is just (purposefully) inflated by certain people.
1 -
I was thinking it could be bait, but you just never know on this forum, lol.
5 -
Yes you do. It's extremely obvious.
1 -
why?
0 -
People actually think like that. I've seen it other places as well. Forgive me if I wasn't sure it was bait or not...

Already addressed this point:

@ciara1999 Vikings might've worn it but literally in your own screenshot it states cornrows originated from Africa not Vikings maybe check your own facts :/
