I like SBMM now.
My games as killer has been going pretty great.
most games end in 3k or 4k and feel fair now.
I don't know what their ranks are but they all have iron will, borrowed time, DS, dead hard. So I assume they are ranked pretty high

I thought they were aiming for 2ks for most games, not 4ks.
15 -
Yeah... I've also had people who have gotten 2ks complaining that MMR is bad because they aren't winning every game like they used to.
14 -
The fact that people actually complain about getting 2ks is so damn hilarious.
11 -
So this is why Survivors complains about SBMM because 20% chance escaping
1 -
I haven't noticed too much of a difference other than camping being more common. But that's pretty unrelated.

2k can be 2-10hooks. Kills mean nothing and should not be a balancing point.

I been testing Clown with the SBMM and honestly it has been fair. Man I get some crazy insane survivors sometimes though 😂

If 2 survivors are able to escape and win, then it's fair. If the killer is able to win 2 kills, then it's also fair.

No. Kills is the worst form of balancing and even the devs acknowledged that and stated mmr is not just based off kills.
2hooks and 10hooks are 2 completely different games and can end in the same outcome of 2 kills. Someone getting 2 hooks and camping does have the same skill as someone with 10hooks
4 -
Sooooo... if it shouldn't be balanced around kills, then what is MMR based off for survivors?
I think it should be balanced around both kills and hooks.
2 -
The games for the killers I face have been pretty great too lol

Well the devs say its balanced and mmr is determined by a bunch of different aspects (they have said, they just stated it's not just off kills)
If you're asking me personally then for survivors chase is the most important skill wise, this is a category which a bad survivor and a good survivor has a huge gap between, next would be a made up category "efficiency" as this is another huge part of high level players.
All in all the game should be focusing on what makes good players good players, and I know kills isnt that and I think the devs soon realized it too.
Even in the recent survey they're asking what hooks do people class as wins so I assume hooks is becoming more of a balancing point?
I'd rather hooks than kills personally, I'd take 8 hooks 0 kills over 1 kill with1/3hooks

We´ll never know what its balanced around. For a good reason. If people knew, they would find a way to abuse the system.

Harsh, but fair.

It's going to take time for the SBMM to fully adjust, because of the chaotic information it was based upon previously. But as it goes on, the game will gradually adjust and it will become a fairer prospect. The SBMM wasn't a problem, but the data was. If they just keep it working, rather than taking it off after this trial and going to the original structure which will cause more bad data, then it'll ultimately even out.

Does that mean someone plays top Tier Killer and tunnel, then camp. Then get another hook with Noed activating Bloodwarden, and somehow manage to 4K with 4-6 hooks.
Will get lower skilled Survivor vs a Killer who play fair with 10 hooks 2K?

I agree that Kills should not be the sole factor, even tho, the 2K = Balance is more based on ALL games which are played.
2K for a single match can indeed mean everything - this can be the Basement Bubba who camps the first Survivor and gets another Kill with NOED, or the guy who plays without Add Ons, gets 10 Hooks and a 2K. (Or, even 8 Hooks and 0K, would not mean that they played worth than this Bubba)
However, when it comes to Chases, I really dont know how they want to calculate it and I also doubt that the system is very complicated (which would speak for hiding it). You could go for Chase Time in relation ot the Pallets used. However, then we have Maps... Like, Survivor A is on Haddonfield, you can run a Killer around for some time without using any Pallet. Then Survivor B is on The Game, which basically only has Pallets, so Survivor B will get a worse Rating, despite maybe being the better player.
And it can also happen on the same Map - lets say, Killer-Rating is determined by the time they take in Chases. Killer A gets Gas Heaven with a lot of Pallets in the middle of the Map. Killer B gets Gas Heaven with a lot of Tank Tracks in the middle, aka a big deadzone. Obviously Killer B will have an easier time to down Survivors in that area, so they will get a higher Rating, just because of Map RNG.
Another thing would be Skill outside of Chases - not everyone is good in Chases, so they most likely have something which also determines that Skill. Like Stealth - hiding next to the Killer without being found? Maybe possible. And efficiency is also important, sure, everyone can do Gens, but the better Survivors are those, who are efficient on Gens, so maybe a Penalty for opening Chests, idle time and a bonus for being on Gens relative to the Match Time. However, this would encourage Survivors to not waste any time on anything else than Gens (even tho this would make them the better players).
I dont have bad games since SBMM is live. My Billy games are a little bit sweaty and my Nurse games are way too easy, but other than that, it looks alright. However, I highly doubt that an automatic system is able to check the Players Skill, except it has a HUGE ton of variables, and I dont think that this is the case. We most likely have something like Hooks, Kills, Escapes, Chase Time and thats about it.

Yes, playing a top tier killer doesn't automatically make that person able to play at high level, you pretty much said the answer yourself. If a killer struggles to get hooks and can only facecamp and use noed to get kills it's quite clear they arent as good as someone who can verse the same team but get lots of hooks.
Look at it this way, imagine the survivors are the same 4 but one killer got 2 hooks and 2kills as they just face camped. But the other killer got 9hooks 1kill. Its quite obvious the one with 9hooks did better versing that team despite the less kills.
Kills only show the end result, not what happened in the trial. Does not take into skill, people quitting, giving up etc.

I don't like it

4k every game feels fair, yeah, sure. I guess the devs have the same idea of balance as you.

All evening playing against survivors with 4k hours playing SWF is such a fun for the usual non-Top Tier Killer. Mmr system not love me....
1 -
same I've been playing clown and he;s actually fun to play now I'm not losing every single game.
1 -
Is this because you're able to face survivors who don't run the evil infinite L-T wall? Or use Dead Hard right after vaulting a pallet that's actually Lithe?
1 -
I haven't studied all the broken survivor perks
1 -
Still can't get over you blaming Dead Hard when Lithe was used in your face twice before in that trial and you called it out lmfao
1 -
That clip was the best :)
damn SWF with their Dead Hard :D
1 -
I need to watch that. It sounds fun.
1 -
Sadly I don’t have a link to that very clip.
but you should at least find him on Twitch. It’s Lord_Tony_Z I think.
1 -
Now wouldn't it be a shame if I happened to have the link to that match...
(sorry it starts partway through but here is just one such example of our esteemed OP)

Our saviour! :)

excuse me the whole lithe dead hard thing has nothing to do with this topic.
I don't play survivor and there are 134 survivor perks so clearly I didn't know it was lithe.
