People Who Don't Even Try
Just had a match in solo on Hawkins against a Hag. A player went down in the first two minutes, but wasn't hooked, as several survivors were in the area with her. She eventually gets picked up, but then immediately throws down the pallet and just starts spam vaulting. Eventually another player just outright surrenders, and theb the entire team gets downed. I get screwed out of a tome challenge, the killer gets screwed out of their addons and Mori, and only a single gen was done. They just gave up, and I cannot stand that. Like if you're not going to try, why are you even playing?

I can agree with you. On both sides, afk killers are just as boring.
Like why ready up if you're not going to play?

I actually had a match with a Wraith on RPD earlier. Granted it's huge, but he just hid in basement all game, and stealth killers excel on that map.

Strange I dislike playing against hag but I atleast try to get as many points and gens as possible

Even if the game is over and everyone is offing themselves, i'll just stick to a gen until the killer decides to murder me.

Yeah, I just don't understand it. Like even if you lose, get some points.

Same, I'm trying even if I know it's over. I wanna fight until the end.

I rarely play Killer so I'm not that good to begin with and I'm usually am nice too - had people instantly give up as soon as they saw me or as soon as I knocked them down a couple minutes into the match. I often let people finish gens and leave when that happens. I remember I had one match where I downed someone and hooked them and their friend unhooked them and they decided to just vault a pallet repeatedly until I downed them again. When I picked them up, they DC'd and their friend also DC'd. The last two, I let heal and finish gens and leave because they actually wanted to play the game and I felt bad.
As a solo Survivor, I've had teammates give up and sometimes I don't get why. I usually try to just play normally until I can escape or die. A lot of Killers do keep playing normally and I don't feel mad that they didn't go easy on us. Sometimes Killers do go easy on us and that's nice of them because they didn't have to.

There are only a few times when I give up and stop trying. The first is when I get put on hook the first time and all I see are yellow auras crouched around doing nothing and I get to second stage.
I will also give up if it is obvious my teammates are toxic and trying to sand bag or body block me into a corner. I'd rather move on to the next match.
Finally, I'll give myself up at the end if it is down to two of survivors and more than one gen are needed and the killer is a really good killer with high mobility. Since I suck at looping, I'd rather give the other survivor a chance at the hatch.

The game is meant to be casual and fun. I don't expect any player to sweat and stress out while playing. If I run into a Killer who has some bad luck, or against an extremely good team - goes afk as a result. I let them. I finish gens, leave, and move on to my next game. I can get my rank 1 back from a single depip if the afk killer made me lose a pip. I can do challenges in other matches.
Same with Killer if I see a survivor clearly trying to surrender, and leave the match. I kill them outright. If someone DC's no problem. If survivors gen rush, let them. I am not about to sweat and stress over a casual game. I choose to ignore the bad, and enjoy the good.
When you get used to this mindset then a lot of things that normally piss you off really just doesn't bug you anymore.

Because this game is based off of a sort of hope system, which is very unlike any other game thats in the market. The killer plays in the hope they get kills, most killers practically give up when the exit games open because its very unlikely they'll get a kill. Survivors work off the hope of getting gens faster than they die and escaping, if they're dying too fast they'll just give up when they realize the situation is hopeless. Its just the symptom of a game with only 1 objective for either side.

Sorry I just don't get this argument that DBD is "just casual and fun" when one sides success depends on teamwork and goes down the drain due to selfishness.
It's the same in league of legends, rainbow six siege and wimilart two sided team based online pvp games even in normal queue were a team gets screwed over by disconnects or Afk. Therefore for example lol has also a DC penalty even in normal queue and R6s allows team refills in normal and has a penalty in ranked.
Casual and fun online pvp games are free for all's with or without squads like PUBG/fall guys/Fortnite or the like. There it really does not really matter when one does DC.
Indifference and irresponsibility due to online anonymity and so on is and grows more and more rampant.
But this feeling of responsibility in team games for me might come from my age and due to that getting to know PvP games in Lan parties were i know everybody and similar to real life games like soccer, were it would mean a loss of "social standing/reputation" to repeatedly ragequit until noone wants to invite or play with you anymore. A feeling that most people today never knew and therefore don't care about anyone but themselves in online gaming.

That is why I am playing Dead By Daylight... You know the killer doesn't rely on a team, correct? If you want to avoid playing with survivor mains, don't queue survivor. You will have much more fun hanging those types of people on meat hooks than you would working with them. Trust.

Sometimes the game is so hopeless there is no point trying. Trying to win an unwinnable game = waste of time. It's more efficient to die and go for the next game sooner.

true like a DC 30 seconds into a match against like a nurse or something I just give up and go because a 3v1 against a nurse is just slaughter

Wraith might even be the best killler on RPD because he has the movespeed to get around quickly and with all the corridors to block LoS he has such an easy time getting on top of survivors.

That is exactly why I have, despite playing this game occasionally since its releasee, units now still never played survivor. I have enough unreliable egoists in those other two games.

For me personally, there are just some matches that make me lose any motivation to push on. If the server connection is poor, and everybody is teleporting, well, I won't even try. If it's a clicky clicky squad, and I just want to chill, they can have fun holding M1 on a gen while I go fluff my cats cheeks.
