Is there any plans for a generic legally "not Demogorogon" killer?
Honestly with the removal of the license it all makes sense, remove the map, make the perks available generically and maybe change their icons.
However, the big problem is the killer itself. The survivors are just skins, so it really isn't a big deal if people can't get access to the survivors anymore, but the killer has a unique kit. This has serious implications for balance of the game moving forward as well as balance for the killer.
Is there any plans to release a generic "non Demogorgon" Demogorgon killer that functionally behaves the same but is not Demogorgon? I could see making it so the current demo is replace with this generic one, and anyone who bought the DLC before the deadline just gets access to a "skin" that makes them demogorgon.

I have werewolf vibes. Like, for the shred attacks. A big wolf jumping to you. And the portals could be the Killer digging inside the ground and making kind of tunnels.

I mean, I can see it but I feel it'd be a big let down to finally get a Werewolf killer (one of the most wanted killers in the game) and it's just an exact copy of an existing killer.
But what if it was a Mole Man?
Has the portals, might be able to use Of the Abyss to check survivors with Killer Instinct due to him being one with his holes (he likes his holes so much and can feel vibrations around them?), and the Shred is just him lounging forward. Also, I don't think many people wanted this, so it's not sacrificing a character people wanted to be unique.

Friday the 13th the game for example has the infamous "Savini Jason" exclusive to people who backed the game on kickstarter. Many would agree he is the best jason in the game. But oh well

Different game, different devs. Nothing legally stops them from doing this, and that entire game was caught up in legal issues whereas this would just be a single license.

It would make the whole situation even more sad. Like yea let's make a new killer but with an already existing kit.
It would be boring and a waste of a new killer. Plus it would be like a salt to the wound for everyone who likes Stranger Things or just Demo.

It would effectively be a skin not a full killer. They have the functionality of demo, they literally just create the "legally acceptable knockoff" and make that the base killer, then make the demo stuff a skin, similar to some of the other stuff like the CryptTV skins that are pretty different from the base skins.
Also, if you read more than 2 sentences, i literally answer "why" it affects the actual gameplay.

If there were plans for this, I'm pretty sure publicly saying so would constitute some kind of license violation, since you're saying "I'm not renovating the license, but I'm just going to make something else that's just similar enough that nothing's gonna change on my end, but you don't get paid".

if the license is not being renewed there really isn't a violation there, there is no longer an agreement. The agreement most likely (from knowing a bit how licensing works for these types of things) is about the likeness of the character, not how it functions within the game. The only thing there is that for example with Freddy, the license holder was probably like "ok cool, but he is a dream killer so he has to do something with dreams and people being asleep" outside of that BHVR probably can do w/e they want.
Unless you mean like, they would wait until after the license officially expires to announce something because technically it could violate the license now which still holds until w/e date.

The reason why you license a character is because you own the rights to it. Even if the license expires, that doesn't give you the right to create something borderline identical to the source material to replace it - that's how copyright violations happen.

The aren't removing the Demogorgon, Nancy, or Papi Steve from the game, just the store. All three will continue to exist as "The Demogorgon" "Nancy Wheeler" and "Steve Harrington". They will retain their faces and cosmetics (as long as you own them already.)
They will just become exclusive characters. Demo isn't going anywhere, literally.
New players are just gonna see him in game and wonder why somebody hacked Stranger Things into Dead by Daylight.

I'm talking about functionality. I could care less about the look of the killer. I'm talking about the function. Someone in the thread mentioned making a werewolf that lunges and digs in the ground. It could FUNCTION the same as demogorgon but still be a different killer.

We don't know the wording of the licensing agreement. If I were BHVR, I wouldn't risk it - not without consulting an army of lawyers, anyway.

Developers could do a Legendary Werewolf skin, that would be available for people who own the DLC and the ones who don't, the ones who don't would be able to only play with the Werewolf skin, others could play as Demogorgon. (There would also probably be some changes to some visuals and sounds, like portals)
