If NOED wasn't in the game...
Then there would be literally no reason to do dull totems. Well, other that +1000 bp, but if we are talking only about gameplay, NOED is the only reason to break dull totems in the game. Just think about it: a whole game mechanic is hinged upon one single perk. You can also mention "inner strength", but it was added much later and if you don't have it - you still have to do bones for one reason: NOED, only one of 84 killer perks. There are a whole lot of hex perks which make destroying lit totems meaningful, and only one perk that justifies breaking dull ones. If they disable NOED, breaking dull totems will be a meaningless waste of time gameplay-wise. Interesting, huh? Existence of just one perk in the game forces survivors to waste time on searching and breaking otherwise useless dulls, as if it were the main purpose of the perk. And they even buff dull totems, making them darker and harder to spot, therefore buffing one single and most hated perk, since all the dull totems serve NOED and nothing else.
Is there any other perk in the game, that has a whole game mechanic depend on it and on it alone?

Oh, they just released a third perk that utilizes dull totems. Still, just three perks using the mechanic in any way.

I agree with you. If I see my teammates rush the generators, I "waste" time to look for Dull Totem. I also cleanse them if they're on my way after I repaired a generator. OK, I earn more BP but I feel I might help during the end game by cleansing them.
As you said, Pinhead's perk uses Dull Totem as well. I'm not sure it'll be used as often as NOED, but it's still a new reason to cleanse totem. I like having multiple objectives.

NOED is not the only reason to break totems? Hex: Devour is a very powerful hex perk. Also Hex: Ruin and Hex: Undying can destroy games if the killer knows how to pressure people off? Like what? Illogical to say NOED is the only reason to do totems.

Well, doing Dull Totems for Inner Strength is def another reason. Allows Survivors to pocket a heal for later on or in a pinch if needed.

Hex: Thrill of the Hunt makes a hex totem take longer based on the number of totems, both dull and hex, that remain uncleansed. Since Thrill also notifies the killer when you start work on a hex, doing dull totems reduces the time it would take to cleanse a real hex.

So I need to run noed more often to make it worth it for you guys. No problem I got you😁

idk about y'all, but the 1000 bloodpoints is more than enough incentive for me to do totems. I still have gripes with Noed but I'll usually do bones anyway.

Exactly. Survivor bloodweb is a grind and a half, so any extra points help.
