Text-Book example of a "Non-answer"
Why will Stranger Things content not be available for purchase after November 17th at 2PM EST?
As with all live-service games, frequent updates, additions, and the occasional change are to be expected. With Stranger Things, our focus continues to be ensuring the legacy of these characters within our game for fans who have purchased them or plan to do so by November 17th at 2 PM EST. With the exception of the Hawkins National Laboratory, all Stranger Things content surrounding Nancy, Steve, and The Demogorgon will remain part of the Dead by Daylight experience.

Holy moly. I don't think it takes a rocket-scientist to realize that some sort of licensing deal fell through. There might even be an NDA preventing BHVR from spelling it out plainly. That's not the issue. If you're going to include the question in your FAQ at least answer the question! Or just don't include it in your FAQ at all.
Not trying to get political but this really does remind me of how some politicians will be asked a difficult question and just go on a tangent about something completely unrelated rather than just answering the damn question. Except in this case, BHVR chose the question for themselves then dodged it.

In politics you answer the questions you wish you were asked, not the question you were asked.

If they didn't include it, people would complain.
They did include it, people are still complaining.
No matter what they did here, people would complain about the answer (or the lack of one).

Tbh, they could have stripped it out and we could have nothing. The agreements spell that out with a lot of fine print, that BHVR is in control of all digital content and none of it belongs to the end user.
BHVR is a highly political company these days and motivated by corporate gains.

I think the OP's point is more, if they are unwilling to answer the question then why on earth did they bring it up in their own FAQ? Seems kind of nonsensical.
3 -
Because if exactly the reasons I said? They were going to get complaints no matter what they did. Maybe they just determined the fallout would be the least serious if they answered to the best if their ability, for whatever reason.

Maybe you're right.

This one takes the cake together with Mclean's legendary "you're free to speculate" weasel out.

The why is quite literally the biggest and most frequently asked question. Of course it'll appear first in "Frequently Asked Questions". And they can't answer it better than this, most likely due to an NDA. If they didn't include it, they would have to answer threads like this every single time with the exact same response you have here.
It's not them dodging the question, they legally answer the question in further detail than this.

Perhaps legally they can't give more details. It does happens sometimes.

True.
