Perk Recommendations

Hello!

Newbie here. And I have a problem. Well, several really! haha!

But the one I want to talk about is how utterly awful I am at being chased, and what perks I can get/use on survivors to help with that. I'm trying to get better! Really, I am! I'm watching YouTube videos, I'm trying to practice the things I learned...but I'm still such an easy catch and hook when the killer decides to chase me. I'm good at doing generators, and I'm decent and not being seen. But once I am...yikes. Once in a great while, I can pull off a decent chase and escape. But most of the time, it just results in me being downed and hooked like really fast.

So! What perks can I get that will help me out with this? I have all the base survivors, plus Jane, Kate, Fen Ming, and David.

Any helpful perk suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

one exhaustion perk is recommended to extend chases

Sprint Burst (Meg), Lithe (Feng), Balanced Landing (Nea) and Dead Hard (David) are the best for this. The other exhaustion perks in the game are more situational and imo don’t help in getting better at chases.

perks to confuse the killer during chase: Iron Will (Jake), Quick and Quiet (Meg), Deception (Elodie) and Dance with me (Kate)

also Windows of Opportunity (Kate) is one of the greatest perks for beginners to learn where to aim to get to in chases!

a perk combo that helps to vault faster when injured is Spine Chill+Resilience (both default perks available in every bloodweb)

To help with chases if you are new in the game like in general?

Just like Mooks above said, an exhaustion perk, Mooks said who has those perks but missed 1, Yun-Jin's perk that after you stun the killer with a pallet run at 150% speed for.... I think 5 seconds?.

Anyways, perks that help new players prolong chases.

    Windows of opportunity (Kate).

your exhaustion perk of choice, if you are new and haven't bought any survivor, Meg with sprint burst or David with dead hard, both are great.

And spine chill + resilience both are common perks which every survivor has.

Iron will can help a lot since a lot of killers use sounds to track.

Thanks for the tips, everyone! Meg is my highest level survivor, and all my best chases happen with her. So getting her perks for others makes sense. I'll look into some others too. When I play Kate, I do use her Windows of Opportunity.

Thanks for the suggestions, I appreciate it.

I'm gonna be the weird one here and actually recommend avoiding exhaustion perks if you want to get better at chase. They can teach you poor habits and some of the others are too situational. A build I like is Windows of Oppurtunity, Iron Will, Spine Chill, and Resilience.

Windows tells me where to path and what pallets are still up. Iron Will prevents the killer from tracking me without line of sight and allows for some very sneaky plays. Spine Chill tells me when to start gaining some distance or to run and hide. Resilience just combos really well with spine chill for that extra vault speed. I also will run Quick and Quiet or Dance with me sometimes instead of the last two, which when combined with Iron Will can allow you to completely lose the killer with a single vault.

But yeah, it took me a while to get good at looping and it will probably take a good bit of practice for you too. Best of luck:)

Okay so. First off, welcome to the community! Secondly, the best way to get better at chase is to get IN chases. Don't worry about being a god looper or being as good as the YouTubers you watch. They've had lots of practice and that's what it comes down to: practice.

For beginners perks, you can go with Lightweight. It'll make your scratch marks fade quicker if you're into evasion but I highly recommend you get into chases. You'll need to learn how to actually run when you get up in ranks.

Meg has 3 perks, Adrenaline, Quick and Quiet and Sprint Burst. Adrenaline is an endgame perk. If you can make it to the end this will be a great and sometimes clutch perk. Quick and Quiet make for sneaky escapes and Sprint Burst is an exhaustion perk. Not my favorite exhaustion perk but definitely good for beginners. Out of her 3 perks I'd say go with Sprint Burst.

Nea has the perks: Balanced Landing (which is my favorite exhaustion perk because it personally fits my playstyle which I feel a lot comes to building a personal build is finding the perks that best personally suit you) but balanced can make it where you jump from a great height and not take a stumble which is a few seconds kinda immobilized as you hit the ground. With balanced, you keep going. Great when paired with quick and quiet but not necessary. Urban Evasion is another perk of hers that is more Houdini. Just allows you to crouch faster. Street Wise has always been confusing to even me but I think my understanding of it the perk is (and anyone can feel free to correct me) it's almost like Felix Richer's perk build to last? Basically makes your supplies aka med kits, toolboxes, etc stretch. Out of these 3 I'd say either Balanced or Urban.

David... I'll save you the trouble and say only Dead Hard and We're Gonna Live Forever is worth it. With WGLF, you get tokens for unhooking, taking hits, flashlight saving, pallet saves and extra bloodpoints! Dead Hard is often misused. A lot of people use it avoid damage which if can if times right but it's more to use distance. This might help you make it to a pallet or a widow to loop. If you use it to avoid damage, killers are only gonna fall for it once and bait you to do it just to smack you down. So yeah, dead hard for distance. Out of these, Dead Hard. Definitely.

Jake has one of the most meta perks in the game... Iron Will and boy can it be powerful. Iron Will from Jake. 100%.

Feng has the exhaustion perk Lithe which is a Sprint Burst when you vault a pallet or window. Good for escaping chases or getting to another loop.

Kate has the best chase perk imo which is Windows of Opportunity. This perk allows you to see the aura of all windows and pallets nearby and while you're on a gen, you can look around and plan an escape route via what you see. You can also see what has and hasn't been used so you don't put yourself in a dead zone. Her perk Dance With Me is also good for escaping chases and part of the Houdini build family.

So maybe a build like: Windows, Lithe / Dead Hard (it's best to only use one exhaustion perk so choose whichever you feel benefits you more), Iron Will, Quick and Quiet.

But engaging in chases is really the best thing you can do to get better. Good luck! I believe in you. 🤗

Thank you. I am just SO bad at getting chased :( I am trying, I really am. But it does get discouraging when Leatherface just downs you in 3 seconds and you feel trapped with nowhere to go lol...but yes, I actually just had another decent match where I was able to evade a Freddy for a bit! Granted, he was only a single perk Freddy and a rank 18...but still...I actually did it!

I feel like against decent killers though, I stand no chance :( I'm trying, though! I really am!
