The ptb is not worth anything anymore , and things should be changed.

What used to be a wonderful way to introduce a new killer while fixing any bugs after the chapteris Now a form of cheap advertisement that discriminates 3 4ths of the community. For 3 weeks , pc only ( which I hate about ptb ) get to enjoy the new killer , while switch , ps4 and Xbox do not get to enjoy it and sit around on the old version. They really only fix the killers a few months after they release . This is the 20th ptb of the game as we speak! That's 60 weeks! A year and 2 and a half months worth of ptbs. Damn . The downside to this is players only have estimated 35 -45 days left of tome , whereas before they would have a lot more. I think if ptbs are cancelled and the content comes to live when it is revealed( when the ptb would be there previously), bhvr will get 4 times the feedback, 4 times the bug reports , and 4 times the suggestions, and everybody gets to enjoy the new killer. The ptb is mostly outdated .

People are still playing PTB in 2021?

I couldn't care less with all the boring killers they bring for an year.

I'm of the opinion that the PTB is only a good thing. It's a direct way to get feedback (even if half the people who provide feedback here on the forum do so in the general discussion instead in the PTB section of the forum as requested by the giant all caps red banner at the top of the page).

It sucks that console players can't enjoy it, yes, but I don't think that this alone is reason enough to stop it.

The devs hold QA hostage over it all just sayin. Bhvr hired some QA in the last year and as a player with 3000 hours, I haven't seen the needed improvement to QoL and overall direction of the game.

Game is stale, devs are stale, QA can't do anything except what they're told it seems to me.

Wrong It's not PC only. It's steam only. Because window store users, or stadia users don't have access to it. But the PTB is actually pretty good since they do seem to listen to some feedback, so I think it's alright how they have it.

Im sure instantly releasing a killer with a game-breaking bug that prevents survivors from doing literally anything wont be an absolutely horrendous idea at all.

Especially when the issue was known internally as well, the PTB is so they get the feedback before people have the oppotunity to complain about something and scream about they're going to quit and how the quality of DBD is going downhill.

I've never seen a game with pc only beta testing . That's my only complaint mostly

The other stuff Is excess , just talking about it , and a simple suggestion. If they won't make beta tests instead of a platform exclusive test build , I don't know what they want to do

There's really more benefit to using something in stead of a ptb .

Hell , they could even add a separate version of the game like a ptb as an extra mode on live when they do it . That's ethical , successful, and beneficial. They can do way more with that.

PTB is a good way to discover bugs or broken mechanics from the new killer or perks.

Limiting it to Steam only though is completely BS. I’m sure it’s due to “limitations” but the HUGE console community also needs to be able to contribute to the feedback.

If you want to point the finger to someone, it's Sony and Microsoft.

Again, behavior can't do anything if Sony/Microsoft isn't okay with it so really this time it's not behavior fault

It's not even that console and switch players don't get to "enjoy" the PTB, but how much of our feedback matters when it's only tested on PC? And then how much of an advantage do PC players have on both sides over console players who never got a chance to try things out in the PTB? Just the devs showing their bias towards PC players, as always.

I disagree the 5.1.0 PTB and the 5.1.0 release was a big improvement.

Also consoles really are not missing out on much by not being able to play PTB. 40 minute killer queues, performance issues, game breaking bugs, the game takes forever to switch over to ptb and back to live. And your progress doesn't carry over. I played the ptb for an hour or two but then switched back to live and have watched other people play pinhead instead.

And it can't happen anyways because console manufacturer's charge for releasing updates and they cannot release things that are unstable and crash consoles. Thats why pc games that "crash" your game have to be changed for console.
