Lol it's too easy, but it's not so easy that literally everyone is rank 1. I'm not rank 1. I think what's actually happening is a) the only people who mention their rank are those who play at rank 1, because any rank lower is open to being ridiculed - there are lots of people who probably aren't top ranked that just don't talk about their rank. And b) there are probably people who lie and pretend they're rank 1, or imply it, because there are elitists on here that will discard your opinions and assume you have nothing worthwhile to say or haven't played the game very much if you're not at top rank.

Rank 8-5 is the sweet spot. Trust me, you dont want red ranks atm

As long as you enjoy the game it doesn't matter and besides. Some of the sponsored fog streamers derank on purpose to play in the rank you are currently at.

Do you really want to be rank 1 though? Long wait times are the real killer in this game.
Stick with the rank 12-8 sweet spot where you don't feel bad for stomping new players, don't have a horrible lobby time, and can still play around with weird/fun perk builds instead of sticking to the meta.
If anyone talks trash because you aren't rank 1, they're likely the same type of people to send hatemail post game about using your killers ability, or calling things like Bitter Murmur or Left behind OP

Nah, I don't play enough to hit rank 1 in between resets.
I don't go hard at it, either, and will gladly be rank 15 forever.
I did get beyond rank 10 as a survivor, though, just by playing, basically before the last reset.
I don't think I stink on ice, but I'm not going to pretend I'm great either. Just casual.0 -

It's hard to leave purple ranks because purple has the biggest mix of survivors. There are potatos in purple and look masters in purple. Getting out of purple as killer or survivor really depends on luck. Red ranks are actually easier for me than purple ranks. As in purple I will often mind game myself as killer believing the survivors are better than they are. In red I usually know where they will run, when they will drop a pallet ect. In purple the survivor skill level is so mixed that prediction is harder.
As survivor in purple you will STILL find survivors who duck waddle around the map afraid to touch a gen. Leaving you to do 3-4 gens alone.Purple ranks are super frustrating.

It’s way easier than it used to be. SWF still makes it way easy for a lot of people to hit high rank but before they updated the emblem system to make it easier for survivors to level up, hitting rank 1 was a pain in the butt for solo players.
But now it’s not hard for anyone to pip as survivor, so as a killer, you run into a lot more players at high rank that aren’t that good.0 -

true my highest rank was 3 and games ranged from easiest 4 k to most frustrating 2-3k and ultimatley stunned every single oppurtunity no kills

I haven't reached rank 1 as Killer yet, even after 700 hours.. Mainly because the playerbase's toxicity levels skyrocket the closer you get there.

People advertise that they're Rank 1 like it's hard to rank up. Bring Urban, bring Adred, bring Sprint Burst, bring Borrowed Time. Farm people on the hook since Borrowed Time will get you safe unhooks anyways. Be a generator ######### and leave the game as soon as possible. EZ Iri Benevolent, Iri Lightbringer, and most likely Iri Unbroken.

I've been a rank 1 killer for the past 4 months but not right now due to the event. As for survivor I've only been in it once and usually end up in rank 4 or 5 due to me not playing survivor often.
Ranking up is very easy but what a lot of people don't see is that the try hard swf groups are usually there as well. Come across one of these groups and you WILL lose with 0 to 1 kills if your not skilled.0 -
You can get R1 Killer or Survivor in 10 hours of game time.
If I get lobbies, I always rank up faster as Killer. Easier to double pip on a Killer IMO. I have also played the game since beta.
My survivor is definitely better than my Killer, but anyone can be high rank in this game. Just play consistently in a season, you will get it.0 -

I don't consider myself a real good killer, but I have a lot of ingame experience from my gametime alone, so I am better than most survivor and with the safety pip system, I practically can't stay in the ranks where I "belong". On the long run, if I just play enough, I will hit rank 1 no matter what, even if I hate playing red ranks.
