When DC penalty was off, I had not 1 game play to completion without a DC. With DC penalty, most games go without a DC.

Plain and simple it does what it's supposed to do. Anyone who doesn't DC doesn't complain about it. It is needed.

Without the DC penalty the game absolutely devolves into a near unplayable mess. Killers' dcing kills a game outright and survivors' dcing makes the play experience worst for their teammates and the killer as you're worth more points to me alive and in the game than hitting the escape key to go to another lobby just because you don't like Nemesis or Legion. We've experienced multiple times in this game's lifespan times where queue times exceeded 40+mins on both sides. This game doesn't have any non online multiplayer components so that means if you turn it on and decide to play you need to stick it out till the end.

DC penalty should be increased and hook suicide should be removed from the game, since it is effectively just DCing without being punished for it.

This is an objective question. It’s not an opinion on whether the DC penalty is fine or not. It’s just facts that the game needs a DC penalty.

every time the dc penalty is the off the game becomes unplayable as survivor, its a FACT confirmed by devs that people dc more when there's no dc penalty.

As long as it maintains its focus on the actual problem (habitual disconnectors) instead of starting to hit people with session-ending timeouts after a single DC, it's good in my opinion. I'm against ideas like making the first DC already give 30min/1hour++ timeouts which you see proposed sometimes.

I do feel for the people that experience stability issues and the like and obviously improving that on all platforms needs to be a top priority, but at the end of the day any actually remotely functional DC discouragement system will cause some collateral damage. It's completely unavoidable and can't be eliminated, but working towards minimizing it should be very high priority.

My problem with the DC penalty is that in very toxic situations survivors have to decide to either take the penalty or endure the match until the end. Perhaps there could be a "Why did you decide to leave the match" if you do and you can select a reason and give additional feedback on it. I know this is an online game that requires participation for matches to be fair, but unfairness from killers I believe is a lot of the reason why survivors DC. More incentives to stay in the match is what survivors need. Getting tunneled down and removed from the match early is eventually going to get to people and they simply just aren't going to want to stay in a match like that for example. At the very least I think survivors should be allowed to leave at least 3 matches a day before a penalty begins being applied.

The game punishes you buy putting you against the most toxic garbage people it can find and just waits for you to dc like it's sentient and feels good that you get a penalty.

Someone disconnecting ruins the trial for others. Whilst I empathise with those wanting to play, but then hit with a powercut or something, even their first ban is 5 minutes, and over a set time it goes away anyway.

Yet those who end up with hours of bans because they don't want to play on a certain map is just childish nonsense, and the problems this makes for others definitely should be punished.
