Why Tho

Untitled.jpg

Literally waited 20min for a match, toxic survivors flicking flash lights at me, speed vaulting in one spot over and over after all gens are done, t-bagging at exit gate. Then theres the guaranteed smack talk in post game "LoL sO eAsY" like... congrats. You smoked a new killer. Good job. Enjoy your next 20min queue.

Is there a reason survivors just love to circle jerk like this?

Like I've never sat at gate and teabagged or harassed the killer, even if they were an absolutely tunneling dick to me. (Like when a Wraith hooks me and facecamps 2inches from my body and spends the rest of the game hitting me and shaking his head no when all I did was unhook my friend).

Like people wonder why it takes so long to match with killers--because most of yall are dicks. Like, this is the majority of my games this morning. Matchmaking with survivors way higher rank than me simply because 1 friend is low tier. If the game lets Rank 7s with Rank 15s, then put them with Rank 7 killers.

Yeah, it sucks as a new killer when going against survivors like that.

Before I took my break of this game, I found that most fair matches happened in the evening for me. In the morning and afternoon I learned that I didn't need to expect anything.

I just cant imagine, as a survivor, sitting in a 20min queue, having an easy game, and then griefing the killer afterward. Like I'm Rank 10 Survivor and I'm usually only playing with my friends so the only time I really experience other survivors, aside from the odd random, is when I play killer and like... 90% of the time... they're total dicks. Like just leave the game, you won, congrats.

Lobbies are usually fast for me as survivor at red ranks at least.

But yeah bm is pathetic. Just immaturity showing don't let it get to you too much. Taking breaks once in a while and playing less stressful games helps a lot.

I'll try to remember that. I thought I'd squeeze in some killer games before work since I woke up early today--and now I'm bummed and gotta go to work in a grumpy mood. I'll try to avoid morning games from hereon out. And as much as I love Legion I might have to shelf them for a bit. It's way too much work when I could just play Trickster and down everyone in a few min :/

Thanks, I gotta remember to take a step back every now and then. I tend to play a few hours at a time and I deff should break it up more. Like at first I felt bad because I couldn't give them a longer game, but once they pulled that at the gates I was like oh... well now I'm glad the match only lasted a few min.

It does help. I play on last gen so there is a lot of freezing involved which can cause frustrations even more on top of the toxicity.

Whenever you feel like you are starting to feel bad, taking a break helps a lot.

if you're going against SWF groups, I recommending scoping them out when chasing, and not overcommit to chases. lots of SWF teams have one member who's considerably stronger as a player, the others are usually weaker as a result of not being pushed proportionally for the rank they'tre at. so... divide and conquer, then take out the weaker players first.

that and if they're being toxic, get in character. don't get angry at the people, get even with their characters.

that, and look at walls while picking up.

    hopefully this helps!

It's the mentality that the devs put forth. The "Survivors" beat the "Big Bad Killer", so there ya go. The Us Vs. Them is what the devs wanted. Since it is the internet and there are little repercussions for a persons actions people say "######### it I'm gonna torture this poor bastard.". They don't care that there is another person behind the keyboard.

i try not to chase for longer than like 30 seconds. I can usually tell pretty quick if I'll be able to catch them or not. Even with switching between the Claudette--their weakest--Nea, and Kate, they were legit done with generators within 4min. Plus it was that Michael Myers map which I HATE I feel like its such a crappy map for Legion, but I'm also only a rank 17. Like me and my friends NEVER get gens done that fast and we're all Rank 7-10, so this game really just made me wanna shelf Legion for a while.

pretty much sums it up :/ the absolute cherry on the irony sunday is survivors complaining about long queue times "uggh why arent there any killers?!?!" then they do this to the killers they do play against. my friend was being a toxic survivor his first few days and i clapped that out of him so quick. he legit was complaining how killers have perks that help them track survivors... like...

If I may suggest something, play survivor in the morning and killer in evening. Survivor queues are instant then and killer queues almost instant in evening.

    Swf. And likely children.

Such a shame, this game is so hard to get new players into especially the killer role.

I love you, thankyou for playing killer!

For my sanity, I might have to. Survivor is insanely easier than killer, I went from rank 20 to Rank 10 in like 3 days as survivor. I got 150 hours as killer and I'm still rank 17 on Legion... like... its SO hard, and being made fun of for it just adds salt to the wound. I ESPECIALLY hate any survivor with a "TTV" in their name because I know they're gonna be extra rude

thakn you <3 trying to keep my head up, i wanna be a good Legion you never see Legions in high ranks and I wanna prove they can be viable lol

I've said it before and I'll say it again, they need to get rid of the exit area it would cut out a lot of toxic play as survivors wouldn't be able to stand a safe distance from the killer to grief them

How does one even get to purple or red rank. I'm a pretty consistent player: I do gens, I do rescue, I search chests and cleanse totems etc. But my rank never goes below about 11..

It depends how high you're talking in terms of skill, but they're definitely playable at rank 1. I also enjoy playing them so I hope you get some better games and can enjoy it!

    I'm rooting for ya!

For higher ranks you have to do l ike X amouint of actions per game to consistently rank up. I remember getting from Rank 11 to 10 I had to do like at LEAST 2 gens, perform an unhook, heal twice, do a totem--like EVERY game to at least pip up a little. With SWF its easier because you can call dibs on certain actions you need.

I feel like I never see streamers play Legion, and if I ever do see anyone playing Legion its never with Legion perks so its like... mmmmmm. BUT I won't give up hope. I can't explain why I love Legion so much, especially since games where I play Pyramid Head or Trickster are 100x easier for me. I just love Julie, help xD

Sorry and no offense but somehow this reads like its been said by a 5 year old arguing with his sandbox friend.

Topic: Adults are more mature then kids. No discussion please its a fact. :)

This is really solid advice. So often you can turn what feels like a doomed match against at SWF into a 4k by picking off the weaker folks first. Seriously a game that would be 5 gens done and no hooks because you committed to their best runner suddenly leaves the runner alive with 3 gens to do and a closed hatch if you pull off and beat the rest into the ground. Nothing feels better than breaking up their little group by finding the weakest link and breaking the chain.

Yeah...this has been the norm for me as killer to be honest. Hell in the short time that I've played this game I've had people actually wish death on me as well, so just wait until that day comes cus that'll be fun.

On the bright side, there is a small glimmer of hope. When the new patch goes live, *hopefully* it'll bring the new matchmaking system which will start pairing killers and survivors around the same skill level together. Honestly I can't wait for that to go live cus I'm personally tired of dealing with and getting rolled by sweat squads.

Yeah... Matchmaking probably should never have put you in that match. Getting Haddonfield and being mid Adept Legion attempt just makes it worse.

If you need some tips and help with perk builds, I can do that.

    UnluckyDucky Member Posts: 330

Yes PLEASE. I prestiged my Legion thinking I'd get a cool bloody skin... I got a KNIFE. T_T So right now my level 21 legion is just getting stomped right now so I thought maybe its a good time to try adept and... boy was I wrong.

Assume being new, mean you dont have half killers. List down which Killer you already have so people can give better advices.

  • FFirebrandd

    Alrighty.

For Legion, the most important part of playing them is realizing what you're 2 main weaknesses are and mitigating them through both perks and play style.

Those 2 weaknesses are that Frenzy can't get downs and Survivors who stay injured and spread out largely make Frenzy impossible to get more value out of.

For general play style, I strongly recommend 2 things. First, learn how to mind game and moonwalk. If done right, that can do a ton to mitigate needing to land a normal M1 to down someone. Second, return to the unhook whenever possible. You know there's 2 Survivors there and you can leave the rescuee a Deep Wound to deal with and force more Frenzy value no matter how well the Survivors stay spread out.

As for perks, there's a pretty decent number that can help. I'm just going to list them because going in depth will result in a ridiculously long post. Thanatophobia, Enduring + Spirit Fury, Brutal Strength, Coup De Grace, Trail of Torment, Play With Your Food. I've probably missed some, but I think you get the idea.

Yo these are amazing tips thank you! I never thought about returning to hook and applying FF to the savior of the unhook victim. And I'll deff have to try and get more of those perks you mentioned. I dont have a ton of killers leveled up but in custom modes I will have to give those a try so I can narrow down which ones to earn first. Thank you so mcuh!

  • FFirebrandd
    FFirebrandd Member Posts: 2,446

I actually meant applying FF to the person who just came off the hook, then chasing the rescuer.

Another neat trick you can usually use is that pallet stuns are shorter than Frenzy's ending stun. So if you can get a Survivor who's already been stabbed to drop a pallet on your head when you're wanting to end Frenzy, they're actually doing you a favor by shortening your stun and eating through their pallet resources faster.

What you can do (and I always do), is completely ignore the TTV (unless you can catch them in a really bad spot). They are so desperate for attention most of the time, they sometimes will throw the game to get a "show" going for their audience.

    UnluckyDucky Member Posts: 330

well im willing to buy killers, because I do like the roll, plus a lot of perks are always available in the Shrine. But as far as who I have

    Killers:

Legion, Trickster, Michael Myers, Demogorgan, Pyramid head

Ever since the last anniversary I got a TON of other perks from other killers like Doctor and stuff

  • UnluckyDucky
    UnluckyDucky Member Posts: 330

Will FF take affect on someone who has Borrowed Time? I run that perk as survivor 100% of the time so Im always assuming other survivors have it too. and i didn't know that about the pallet stun thing! thats awesome to know xD HIT ME PLEASE!

Yeah, sometimes it looks that way. What I always find hilarious, is when they are some small streamer with like less than 10 viewers, but have a HUGE donation button. Like sure, people will throw money at you with such a huge button.
