What percentage of the dbd community is gay? Genuine question
I see the pride flag charm on like 80 percent of killers and survivors.no hate just asking is that because it was a free charm or is it actually a genuine expression or shown support of the lgbt community.shout out if you do I'm straight and I do it because blending into the darkness is for lames

We know for sure that it's a number between 0-100.

It's a larger percentage than a lot of other games, that much is certain. How much larger, though, and the actual percentage is unknown.
A lot of people use the flag to show support, though, not just because they're part of the community

I feel like this question may have a bad turnout
3 -
That is a great first step
1 -
I know allies such as myself wear it, so you can't assume everyone who wears it is gay
3 -
Idk, but I'm never taking it off.
Yeah, some could be wearing it to show support.
I also agree that blending is lame like if you're going to be sneaky at least put in more effort than just pretending to be a wall.
1 -
Well I'm a lesbian and I wear it to show support and awareness for my community.
Thank you to all the straight allies who wear it and show support too, much appreciated💗
11 -
I'd say the percentage is probably similar to the percentage of people who are LGBTQIA+.
(I apologize in advance if I missed any letters or if I got some out of order.)
5 -
I am gay, but you don't have to be directly LGBT to be supportive of them.
5 -
A large part surprisingly. This game is really popular with people in the lgbt community. I also know a lot of Drag Queen's play as well. (Which I absolutely love)
5 -
If it helps, a lot of people are okay with just using LGBT+. So long as you recognise that more exists afterwards, it's not a massive stress as to how long you make it.
8 -
Its great your being considerate but you don't need to say the whole thing. Just lgbt+ is fine.
2 -
I was wearing it on pride month. Tbh I am not even sure of my sexuality. When I was dating it was straight but sometimes I am not sure what exactly am I and don't think about that much at all.
I don't find it important and I gave up dating and relationships like 6 years ago when I ended my last one.

How do I get the charm flag?
3 -
Code PRIDE in the redeem code section in the store :)
6 -
It's really heartwarming to see so many members of lgbtq+ and soooo many straight allies.
Really is awesome and means alot. Much love all🏳️🌈💗
3 -
I am straight and use the Charm on my Survivors and Killers.
And at least once someone was happy about it, I watched the VOD of a Survivor Streamer I went against, they were happy that I had the Charm on my Hook.
5 -
I just think the flag has pretty colors and it supports people so I like it, despite the fact that I'm not in the community myself.
5 -
Thank you! <3
1 -
It's unusually wholesome for a comment section and I'm concerned as to how it's gonna go wrong
5 -
I think it did but the mods were on it. Somebody said "LMFAO" and that comment is gone now. I think the mods deleted it because they interpreted it the same way I did.
4 -
I'm bisexual so count me I suppose
3 -
Why didnt you make a Poll

It's a nice charm, so I'm sure it has cross-over appeal outside the LGBT community. It's actually surprising and nice to see how many people wear it. I know some people were afraid it was going to be stigmatized, but it seems pretty popular.

Sounds like you could be Demi or Ace but human sexuality is fluid and you don't have to label yourself :) Your show of support is great no matter what
3 -
im straight and i wear the charm to show support. i do think a big part of dbd are lgbt+ and women but i wouldn't know the statistics honestly :0
1 -
I wear the charm for support but i have no interrest in my sexuality anymore.
Good that we have a community that's generally really open about these kind of things.
2 -
Goes to show how Horror is quite a popular genre among LGBT folk
It's great that people can use DBD to express themselves that way!
1 -
Well I am not sure wearing a charm did that much but thanks I guess. My best friend is gay and I never saw him any different than other people.
Lets just say I had complicated childhood and it made me not picking sides and discriminate others based on anything.
2 -
I'd estimate around 500%
2 -
I'm gay but I missed the event or whatever it was so I don't have the flag.
DBD is very popular for LGBT people, idk why it's also extremely popular for girls. I find a crap ton of girls on DBD and gay people compared to most other games.
Not that your sexuality or gender has anything to do with your gaming habits or interests. Just for some reason, there is a very large number of them here.
I personally love it tbh, I love the variety of people.
2 -
You can still get the charm
1 -
Oh really? How?
0 -
Go to the store then redeem the code PRIDE
1 -
Oh cool, thanks friend
1 -
Probably the same as the percentage of LGBT people generally. Not sure why it would be any different. I wear it because I like rainbows...
1 -
Well, I'm straight and cis but I still use the charm. I know some really nice people who are part of the LGBT community. They don't play the game as far as I'm aware but I might as well use the charm to show support anyhow.

While the internet tends to get a little... y'know, yeah...
One thing I love about the internet is how comfortable people are on here, being able to express themselves. Warms my heart to see all of this.
And yes, I wear it because I support the LGBT fellas, and I'm bisexual myself.
3 -
I'm not apart of LGBTQ, but I wear the charm to show my support (:
2 -
probs like 1-5 percent like most games
1 -
I'm not part of LGBT+ community but I wear it on my mains to show support.
1 -
Thanks grandpa
4 -
Oh no ofc you don't have to wear it! Anyone just being a decent human being and showing support is more than enough
0 -
We do, though.

I do notice a lot of the players use pride charms on survivors and killer hooks, so I’d assume there’s a big portion that is gay themselves or support it.
If we’re going by demographic studies then probably less than 10% of players would be gay. It’s still a minority, albeit a vocal one which can give the impression that’s there’s more gay people than there actually are.
0 -
There are gay people that play this game? !?!
0 -
It's amazing to see so many people supporting LGBT+
Edit: Yes I am gay myself and use the charm on both survivor and killer.
0 -
I dont wear it with everyone mainly because I sometimes like my charms matching. But I am a supporter of anything LGBT+ because I dont care if you're sexually attracted to lima beans it's none of my concern or business. I will say I am happily surprised at how wholesome and nice this comment section is.

I'm straight but I wear the charm as a show of support. Well, sometimes anyway. I tend to rotate the charms I use from time to time since I have so many.
I wonder what makes this game more attractive to the LGBT community than a lot of other games? I've actually seen articles written that have noticed it. Is there a larger than usual LGBT audience for horror in general, or is it something about this game itself?
1 -
So the L in LGBT is for Lima-Bean Lovers, got it.
