Kill Switch update: We have temporarily disabled The Legion due to an issue that allows for infinite power spam. The Legion will be re-enabled once this issue is fixed.

I remembered why I never use any fun killer perks

Playing killer without gen defence spam is garbage. It really is. You have to be psychic in knowing who's a good looper and when to drop a chase BEFORE you'd even realistically get that information. If you see a survivor run to shack or a jungle gym, might as well not even bother. Base regression doesn't do anything, so don't bother kicking gens. Hit and run doesn't work, because they'll just heal up and the gens keep going. Information doesn't matter because even if you can stop 2 gens at once, you can't stop them all. The game pretty much starts out with 3 gens left anyway. You have to tunnel someone out to make up for the zero pressure you're getting. Hope that the survivors are allergic to gens, God knows my teammates are. Of course you could ignore all this and say the game's fine because Nurse and Spirit exist and don't have it quite as bad.

Yeah, I have been trying out different builds since I got my killers all to 50 and am really building out the perk library for each. With that said running any killer but the top 4 feels just brutal without slow-down perks.

Most survivors aren't concerned with a large blood point game but simply escaping and to that end, Gen Rushing is just about the only thing Solo Q seems to agree on most games. I have no good ideas how to make survivors have more to do without totally breaking their game but right now it seems like you as a killer need to run meta perks just to have fun in a game that lasts more than 5 minutes.

There are a few of the top killers who don’t need gen regression perk, but the majority will loose without them

I usually run play with your food, rancor and save the best for last for that last salt effect. If you tryna to win then run the meta.

Demo main here, switch your thinking on what you consider a win and just start with some simple goals.

Some simple goals could be |

    down or hook 1 survivor

    Get all four unique hooks

Interrupt one gen while it is being worked on

Complete a chase in 1 minute

Get 1 grab out a locker or off a gen

    Outplay a survivor

    | The aforementioned goals I just listed above really help me to have lots of fun even if all survivors escaped at least I did x or y or z. But most importantly play for fun if it gets really bad and your not having fun take a break and come back better and remember this...

even if you did everything right, sometimes you will still lose.

2gen defense, 1 tracking, 1 to compliment the killer.

It's always been that way at high rank

Wow, first of all friendly killer only player with 250 hours playing since release.

My goal are my 4 bbq stacks and up to hooks.

But damn that lists seems horribly sad if we have to make such goals to have fun.

I agree with OP but only insofar as it's vs good survivor teams that this is a problem. Many people have shown you can play as a perkless/powerless M1 115% killer and still manage to 4k at 5 gens against survivors who are not good at the game/not maximizing gen efficiency. In fact I would argue most teams do not maximize gens properly and so you don't really get exposed to this.

A huge, huge caveat to this though is that there is no MMR yet in this game and red ranks are filled up with tons of boosted survivors. It's shocking how many survivors don't know how to loop/prioritize doing dulls/open chests/dont know how to take advantage of on hit speed bosts/dont run meta perks. I think that once MMR is added and they have actual data(because god knows the DBD devs will refuse to touch anything unless they have an excel spreadsheet chock full of metrics and stats) they will probably have to do something about high skill survivors vs high skill killers.
