Can't maintain red ranks?

I just got into red ranks for the first time (rank 4), but after a few games I drop down to the purple rank 5. I haven't got an entity displeased, my lowest result was a brutal victory. Do I have to get a merciless every game or something to maintain my rank?

    When my croosplay is on, I am dropped with 3 green ranks on console with more or less 100 hours as survivor. When the crossplay is off (only PC players) I am constantly dropped with red ranks with almost 1k5 hours.

    ... and I'm green rank btw...

    No, a brutal killer is still a safety pip, a ruthless is still a pip, and a merciless is still a double pip. It's just the boundaries for these go up slightly, but this slightly feels absolutely massive if you're adjusting from purples to reds.

    Don't worry too much about it. Give it time and you'll adjust as you get better, until you can hold your own against the average red rank teams.

    I typically main Deathslinger. And whether people escape or not is not consistent. But I almost always get at least 2 kills.

    As killer all you have to do is play legion. I got to rank 1 in no time with him. Even with a 1 or 2 k i always pip because you injure and find survivors quickly and fast.

    If you dont get entity displeased, you shouldnt downrank. Except for the rank reset on the 13th every month.

    If you are sure that you dont got an Entity displeased, it could be a bug.

    You want to play a killer that gets a lots of hits and chases. Insta down killers like Myers are poison for your rank. Go for Legion or Trickster instead. It will be much easier to pip.

    Maximize your hooks. Try to get 10+ hooks a game, and hook all survivors at least once.


    You also want to prevent survivors from completing all the generators and opening the exit gate. That would lower your Gatekeeper emblem.


    I like Wraith and Doctor for pipping up. (If I ever actually wanted to pip up)
