Buff Freddy

Freddy is an overall bad killer in my opinion since he isn't really fun to play as and it's boring to play against him. He just feels like a basic killer and when he first came out, he was a bit cooler. This is all just personal opinions and I would like to hear your opinions as well, maybe we can get a change in Freddy overall.

Changes I think would make him more fun:

  • Freddy should be invisible to survivors when they are awake (maybe grass could move due to him)
  • Freddy should have a reduced terror radius to awake survivors (maybe making it quite low and letting his children's humming be something that gets louder the closer he gets?)
  • Freddy should have changed dream snares to make him stronger in the dream world

There's so much you can do as Freddy and the simple concept of slowing down survivors isn't really fun. I love the dream pallets since it's unique and it messes with the world itself. I feel like snares should be a bit more like beartraps or pinhead's chains, although much easier to break out of, also not hurting the survivor due to it's increased range. Of course there would most likely be less dream snares and of course you shouldn't be able to put it down in a certain radius of the survivor so you couldn't just throw them down at a window someone's about to jump through. I would see it as being a pre-set up thing, able to trap strong loops to ensure survivors can't just use them at will. It would be a battle of brains, determining which place is trapped and which isn't, having to break away from the hands' grasps when caught (the snares only work in the dream world of course). I could see it being a notification thing as well, telling you that a trap has been triggered and where it was. Freddy just lacks the ability to apply pressure to a team, especially if they can loop you before they even fall asleep.

TLDR: It should be a bit easier to make survivors fall asleep or try to catch them off guard. Freddy's entire strength is in the dream world, able to do anything at will, so the snares should be a bit more interesting since pure slow down is kinda boring. (Trapper and Pinhead both slow you down but in interesting ways)

Can I ask. If old Freddy was good why was he changed to the current version in the first place?

I wasn't around when he received his rework but it was probably because of how weak he was and that was what the devs thought was the best route for him.

Devs probably thought he was underperforming, but all he truly needed were buffs. There were people that genuinely enjoyed playing him, even if he was weak.

So, it's an unpopular opinion, but I agree that Freddy is kinda bad currently. There's a weird stigma to Freddy, where you're not allowed to NOT hate him and think he's OP. (Kind of like Warlocks in World of Warcraft, even though they haven't been OP since Vanilla, but the stigma stuck all the way to current day.)

Freddy is a basic M1 Killer, whom can sometimes teleport to a gen after a 4 second announced cast. He can also lay down traps that slow Survivors a little bit, but also slow himself during cast time. And these traps only affect Survivors sometimes.

He really has... very little. And he's stuck with a normal Terror Radius to anyone in the Dream World, too.

Freddy is lackluster. The only good thing about him is when his lullaby makes it tough to discern his orientation and he gets a random hit on someone. But Huntress does the same thing, rofl... and has so much more.

Everyone was complaining that old Freddy was weak. Then they eventually reworked him. He became so oppressive to the point that he was "over performing". Plus people were complaining about him constantly. So they nerfed him. And here we are.

He does need an add on rework to be sure. Reducing his trap and pallet number should be undone as well. The new alarm clock and is down during traps is more than enough of a nerf.

he doesn't really need a buff, in my opinion, but just more gameplay diversity/originality for his abilities. he's the most "m1 killer" of all m1 killers, but he's pretty boring.

Old freddy was the weakest killer of all the communuty create a tier just for him. But in my opinion he was my favorite killer and he was the reason i bought the game when they rework him i was unhappy but i suck it up but now he need a major rework or addon pass because when you have your perk its worthless to invest bp in him

When Freddy first came out, he was "OP". They then nerfed him and then he was considered the worst killer. Then they completely changed how he played and buffed him. Then he was "OP" again, and they nerfed him. Then he was still too "OP" so they nerfed him and now we have current Freddy.
