Why are people saying SBMM makes matches harder?
Why are so many people complaining about SBMM "causing" miserable killer matches? Shouldn't it be a better experience for killers since they are matched with survivors with the same skill as them?
Sweaty killers play sweaty survivors, casual killers play casual survivors, new killers play new survivors. Isn't this what SBMM is?

Because many killers have gotten used to playing against survivors below their own skill level that they aren't prepared for challenge matches against equally skilled opponents.

Entity forbid players reap what they sow, that would be oh so terrible.

If you are used to winning 90% of your games - your matches will be harder for sure.

I myself have been playing since only about two months ago, I'm a rank 1 killer atm, and I keep getting matched with these survivors who have been consistently playing since 2016 and have thousands upon thousands of hours. SBMM is going to make my games much more fairer.

No...thats not even close to what it is.
What happens is, with SBMM or at least the one we tested out not too long ago. It just makes your queues even more lop sided than they already are. You end up with either people who are way too weak, or waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too strong, no matter what.
Pre-SBMM you only had to worry about that from the killers perspective because of a smurfing SWF team. Post SBMM every game has that "smurf" sensation because it'll throw in a solo queue or multiple solo queue survivors who are rank 1 against a rank 15 killer. Without them even being SWF.
On survivor side though, you end up with the same thing except every match is against what feels like a Smurfing killer. And you couldn't tell because the ranks wouldn't display properly. It was complete ass. Pre SBMM survivor you were at least guaranteed to get a killer that was at your level. Rarely ever sweats. And rarely ever a completely new killer. Post SBMM you get either a killer thats sweat tryhard 9000 no scope. Or you get Terry and its his first day on the job....
IT SUCKS!

It can introduce burnout. Take away any form of a breather will cause players not to play as much.

I had the most fun in this game while the SBMM tests were active. I felt like I was playing with and against other players who were performing at the same level as me and learning the game at the same pace as I was. All of my games then were really good, and even if I didn't get a 4k, I got so many hooks.
I think it sucked for you because the SBBM system didn't have enough data to accurately give everyone a grade that would suit them.

Killer main here. I myself am excited for the SBMMR because FINALLY I'll be able to get some decent matches. When it was active for the testing last time I felt like it paired me up against good survivors who were around my skill level. At no point in the match did I feel desperately outmatched, every game felt winnable to the point where even when I did lose, I could easily think back on to how I screwed up. Point is, I'm happy this is finally coming. I'm tired of being rolled over by SWF death squads and survivors who know every little trick in the book cus they've been playing for years and years and now how to effortlessly loop and dodge. I fully admit that I ain't the best at this game. If anything I feel like I'm decent enough, but I'm galaxies away from the likes of a lot of killers.
Plus to add in to it, the "meta killers" I personally do not like playing. Hate how Nurse handles, can't stand playing her. Same goes with Spirit (also helps that the bloodweb has majorly screwed me cus of RNG with that one), and Blight I like playing in small doses but not many. I prefer to play as other killers, if anything I really want to learn Legion but between running in to death squads and again with the bloodweb screwing me, I can't really do much except suffer with them =/. Hopefully this helps alleviate some of that pain.

Doesnt make them harder just makes them unbearable. Highest level of this game has zero interaction

That the thing lets say you main blight and you play to your best every game and now you are in the top 10%. But now you are tired to always play your best you want a relaxed game you wont be able to have that game with blight because you are in a high tier mmr. That why killer dont want high mmr and its understandable if you can see it this way.

For my killer games at mid-high (I believe) mmr, I found it nearly impossible to 4k without playing scummy, i.e. tunneling and camping. Against competent survivors the gens flew by, making it impossible to "play nice." Normally I like to avoid tunneling and camping, and I like to give every survivor a little bit of attention to make sure everyone has fun, usually resulting in a 8-12 hook game on my end. It is literally impossible to play like this against a team where everyone knows how to play well. There just isn't enough time.
TL;DR My matches were "balanced" but very unpleasant and unfun, enough to make me consider quitting killer. I'll give it a chance, but my experience with the last test was awful.

Because without a top-tier killer you cant do ANYTHING agaisnt a 4 man premades.

Because that's what SBMM does for players with a win ratio higher than 50%

Harder if you consistently want to 4k or escape. Otherwise, it is literally just going to be more chill for everyone.
