2 things making me not want to play this game anymore
Devs say that they are working on optimization. Since the last time we had a fiasco making the game unplayable I've not had very many issues with it. Then they say they are working on optimization and ive had 3 crashes in 1 day. The most I've ever had, and I have a high end pc. This is made worse by time outs because you dumbshits cant code in a crash versus closing the game or leaving the match. Its not hard I have experience in these fields.
The second is Haddonfield. Barring annoying teams that send you there. There has been a massive uptick in randomly being sent there lately. I would chalk this up to bad luck if it weren't for them disabling maps for "bugs". Which i know is a load of ######### because of dead dog. The last time they had "bugs" on that map they fixed it in the next patch instead of turning it off. So they leave this turd of a map in the game with no changes when it is arguably the worst designed thing in the game.
Two options here, A Turn it off until you rework it or get rid of it. Or b do some proper tlc to your maps like you are claiming you are doing to maps that were fine and fix the problem loops. I love this game and i think these devs have the same passion as i do for horror and the hall of fame they have worked on but we have to call them out on their bullshit too sometimes.

Really? Most games I play do not account for crashes or internet down relative to just leaving. I mean, I would assume you could tell the difference, but literally every online game I have played treats them the same.

I've been taking a break lately. The reduced map pool has made things really awkward lol
6 -
they have a screen dedicated to asking you to report the crash. What prompts that? If they can make that pop up when it crashes now you know how easy it is to train their dc system to know the difference

@ArchAbhor What makes you think the crashes are BHVR's fault? My game is running fine and I have not crashed for a long time.
Calling people names is uncalled for, rude and not productive. Don't go there.
Also I love Haddonfield as Killer and Survivor, so you barking up the wrong tree.
The reason those maps are turned off is because exploits were discovered on those maps and that has to be removed.

nah you dont seem to get it then. They are 100% on behaviors side. Otherwise whos side would it be? I've already stated that my pc is high end and can run the most recent AAA titles and that i go though periods where the game is fine and where the game is prone to crashing. This is 100% because of optimization case and point with the console issues. I will call whoever is at fault names because they need to wake up. This is unacceptable for a game as old as this. If they take offence then likely they know its true otherwise they shouldn't take offense. Get it? Stop white knighting for them they need to own up to their mistakes.
Also I threw them a bone. Like I said I love this game and these devs but that doesn't exclude them for criticism. These same people who i would call out on bs i will praise for fixing or doing the right thing.
I don't care about your like or dislike of the map. It still doesn't excuse the lack of tlc to the map and the imbalance to it. As far as exploits are concerned which are you talking about? Haddonfield has the dead hard over a rail exploit. Sounds like you are biased

@ArchAbhor I worked in an IT Store both as seller and repair man. There could be a myriad of problems and programs you have enabled that could cause such a crash. I'm sure @KhaineGB would love to help you troubleshoot the problem over in Technical Issues. But just because you threw a lot of money into a PC, does not mean whatever error happens is the developer of the Program's fault. That not how computers work.
The truth is name-calling just makes people less likely to want to take you seriously. It has nothing to do white knighting or that you are somehow exposing truth that we don't want to hear and that's why its offensive., this is just how a civilized society kind of has to act.
The Haddonfield rail exploit does not get you out of the map. its a minor issue honestly.

I work on pcs. Its a software issue not hardware, what you just said tells me you or your friend doesnt know what they are talking about. I'm willing to be proven wrong thats not what this is about, but i doubt you can since i have pretty good idea as to why they have these issues. I think people need to grow thicker skin. All of what i said was harmless. Derogatory, but harmless. If they cant take the bad with the good thats on them. It would be different if i JUST talked ######### but thats not what i did. I guess its more venting that caused the "namecalling" but still they can get over it

I did not state anything about the problem being a Hardware or Software problem. That's all your doing.
You are free to take it to technical issues any time or figure it out yourself if you don't need any help or don't believe we can.
To your point about Derogatory Speech, One could equally say, "you need to grow a smoother tongue." Sure that speech is harmless to you maybe, but not using derogatory speech is also harmless, in fact angry speech is like the kind of Communication with the worst response rate.
"Oh the fact that you are angry and are yelling at me or being mean, makes me want to help you more." That is like Karen Logic.
Derogatory Speech is unproductive and its a dumb skill tree, Don't spend points there mate.
I think you vented too, and sometimes people need to vent, but these forums are not for you to blow off steam. Try Meditation or a Workout.

I have never ever seen this pop up for me when DBD crashes. Is this a PC-only thingy?

Just last night I actually had a SWF that bought an offering to Haddonfield with two brand new parts, a key, and flashlights. Pretty sure they had comms too. I was playing pig so I already knew I had no chance of winning but I didn't lobby dodge because I simply didn't care. I just don't understand why people find doing this exact thing so fun.

So the largest playerbase that crashes the most often they cannot even collect data & logs for.

Specs?
What diagnoses have to done to confirm its not your software/hardware?
Have to talked with BHVR support about the crashes?

You should play solo survivor sometime, especially with Pinhead. And I'm a console player, so it's funny to hear a PC player talk about poor optimization. I couldn't play earlier today, it was stormy where I live and I didn't want to get banned from this game if my power went out. Genuis.

I only have 1 reason now and thats update sizes being weirdly big

Since the update, i now need to lower the graphics and resolution just to maintain the same 60fps frame rate i had before when it was maxed out. Its confusing as hell.
0 -
i play exclusively killer and solo survivor. On PC I'm currently having issues with phead and thats it. Prior crashes seemed to be fixed since this update. Further proving it was poor optimization. idk anyone would buy this game on console considering the devs track record on optimization
0 -
Its poor optimization causeing that. Them not following through on the health of the game like they promised at the beginning of the year

Trolls and bullies like having power unfortunately 🙁

What steps have you taken to confirm that its not another program your running to cause this issue?
Sorry I meant to add, my computer is no where near that level and I havent had a single crash in the 2 years of playing on pc.
i5 9400F, ASUS GTX 1660, just recently 2 months ago upgraded to 16 gig ram from 8

Yeah, I tried playing again. I've been sent to sheltered woods, silent hill and badham A LOT lately.

What i use in my pc is typically not changeing much barring updates that i keep up on and updates to other software like unity or blender. I'm convinced at this point its just poor optimization on their end. Since the Update the only crash I've seen was the one everyone else has been getting. I Just wish the devs would skip a chapter and fix thier game. Then stay up on it

I kind of agree. Haddonfield is so survivor sided, I wouldn't mind if they disabled it until it became more balanced. Throw in Fractured Cowshed too if you don't mind. Another atrocious map.

I'm waiting until these server crashes are worked out to play. They've been disconnecting like crazy since release.
What BHVR honestly needs to do is SLOW DOWN! They've shown time and time and time again they cannot handle a 3-month chapter release schedule. It's too much on their plate, especially when the health of the game is in question. They really don't have an excuse anymore, they've been at it for five years, they have oodles of money; it's highly disappointing. I understand the frustration, @ArchAbhor, only not as wholly as you do as I haven't worked in the field.
