Counterforce is actually decent against noed

If there are still totems left at the end (i.e. noed has already been activated) and especially if the killer is camping I'd definitely take it over detective's or small game - one leads you to the other and you get through them pretty fast. Might even be worth focusing totems on one side of the map if you aren't going to do them all, which doesn't always work out in solo anyway.

TL;dr counterforce has saved my ass a bunch of times now, is a bit underrated

I prefer DH. It lets me memorise totems from the final gen and then check them

Imo the biggest con to counterforce is someone cleansing the dull totem it showed you. I had to take it off because it was happening way too often.

I'm not sure I have the mental capacity to remember more than one totem location.

I might not need any totem perks if my teammates did more of that :p

Unfortunately I don't have Jill yet but this perk is the one I want most from her. Really handy perk.

Also do I see a salty killer in the screenshot? I guess this is what happens when you actually "just do bones"? Lol

Edit: I don't know if you're solo survivor or with a group but if you go solo I would always bring small game since then you know for sure how many totems others have done.

Maybe too much overkill I would try hunch and small game or counter+ hunch and head on+deception.

Hella times killers try to avoid the stun when im already gone long ago hehehe

Unfortunately, even in the scenario you described, Counterforce is the worst of the totem seeking perks. All it takes is one individual cleansing a totem you have in sight for the perk to lose a ton of value, forcing you on the hunt again. Just run DH, it is vastly superior in every way. If you are worried about NOED, you will have plenty of time with DH to clear out all the totems before you even finish all the gens. Even Small Game is a better choice than Counterforce.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it can't come in clutch, I'm just saying the others do it more efficiently.

I've been using Counterforce and Small Game recently just to try and fight the Ruin, Undying meta. It actually works quite well, you get a good amount of BP and all totems are gone before you know it.

I have Counterforce nearly in all builds - it is just the best totem cleansing perk.

It shuts down annoying killers running Thrill of the Hunt or who is trapping totems because of its stacked speed boosts. Also, it can tell you once all totems have been cleansed when you see no more totem auras.
