Kill Switch update: The issue affecting Baermar Uraz's Ugly Sweater has been fixed and the cosmetic has been reenabled in all queues with this update.

Solo Survivors- what is it about your teammates that make you leave a lobby?

I have been noticing a lot of players leaving lobbies abruptly for some reason, and I’m curious as to why that is. Is it cosmetics, Gamertags, or the platform they are playing on? Usually if I stay in that lobby, I have a bad game. Then post match I say to myself, that person who left earlier really dodged a bullet. So let me in on the secret- what are some tell tale signs you may be in for a rough one, if you ready up?

Clan names or if they have like 100 hours on the game

No, I think you may be on to something… I suspected as much. Just need a few others to pour their two cents in to confirm. Like the people who actually do, do that.

If they're on PSN I can usually check the trophies. If they have very few of them I usually dodge.

Mind you I'm not talking about things like adepts, but if I see a Dwight that only got the "level up a character to level 50" 2 weeks ago I'm honestly not going to bother lol.

PC players don't have to dodge lobby to not be matched with those on consoles. They cazn just disable cross play and those on PC won't get matched with those on console.

They can but won't for some reason. I guess some need a scapegoat for losing.

I could see them dodging SWF groups. While the can be organized they can be toxic towards solo players or leave them to fend for themselves.

Interestingly(and hysterically sometimes) I have seen SWF groups do things that resulted in them all getting sacrificed and resulting in the solo survivor as the only one left. Trying to body block a killer that is using Starstruck from hooking someone being the most frequent.

I have only done this if I recognize the person, and they played terribly.

After a particularly bad match with three Meg's in Pig masks... (I thought they were just being a bit memey and lightly roasting in the pre-game chat - so I stayed.)

Long story short, right at the start of the game they blocked me in a corner for over two minutes pointing at me and tea bagging. When we got found by the killer, one threw a pebble at me and I got downed first.

One of the Meg's at least gave me some company by standing next to me on the second hook stage ~ so that was nice... /s

Anyway, I will leave the lobby almost immediately if I see three Meg's in Pig masks.

    Never again, lol.

I usually just dodge if my friends get on, or if I'm suddenly called away and can't get back to the game in time to play. So technically, not dodging, it just looks like that.

Otherwise, even if I check someone's profile and they have very few hours, I'm just gonna hold it tbh. I escape enough with my 4 man that I don't really mind the disturbingly bad games that get handed to me by baby Dwights and Megs here and there LOL; I figure I'm taking the bullet for all yall solo queue players who otherwise might be matched up with them for a terrible game LMAOOOOO

One of my friends forces us to dodge the solo player if they're playing as Bill 💀💀💀 he STANDS by the fact that Bill players are almost always horrible 😭😭😭

I leave any time anyone brings a key. If they even play at all, they're going to leave and screw over everyone else as soon as they can. I also will not play with more than one Claudette because you're basically down a player with one in the lobby.

    Lolol

Lmao I’m in a lobby rn with two: “I’m taking your pins” and “I’m taking your box.” When I got in there was no killer! 😹

    Keys = auto leave.

If I sense you're in an SWF and you guys are going to be more trouble than good.

Certain names/tags that just give me bad vibes/make me think they will hinder the team.

Default cosmetics are a red flag as well for me.

This legit made me laugh out loud- especially the pebble throw. 🤣

Lmao thank you for your sacrifice! 😂

So wait a min…how many people feel this way about Bill?! I heard this before and he’s low key the reason why I’m creating this thread! I didn’t want to lead any answers so I purposely left that out. I am trying to prestige all survivors to level 3, and I am now currently working on Bill. Ever since I’ve been using him, I’ve been seeing a lot of lobby dodges as soon as I enter the lobby! Is this really a thing?! I’ve never payed attention to bad Bills before…

on PS5 you can see how many hours in game each player has.

i imagine ppl dodge if the time in-game is substantially lower

Sometimes I immediately leave because I get the same type of killer or map 2-3 games in a row. Other than that I'll leave when I recognize a bad survivor.

With those queue times, you think I dodge? Hell no. I can see the usernames "No Farm = DC," "Dies on First Hook," and "I Sandbag Solos" and still stay in the lobby, lol.

I usually don't play with people with TTV in their name due to the killer possibly stream sniping. I dodge if most of the survivors are wearing default clothes because it usually means they are newer. If I can see their hours via steam and if they have like 100 hours I will dodge. I also dodge people with keys because they are unfair, and because key users tend to wait for hatch instead of saving or doing gens when 2 people are left with 1 gen to do.

Ha ha! Yeah, I like to look on the funny side when things like that happen.

I must admit that the loud breathing from a mask wearing Meg gets slightly unnerving after a while...

Especially when you're surrounded by three of them.

They could almost put Myer's mask breathing to shame.

    Almost. XD

As survivor I will dodge if I get that feeling from the other survivors, you know the similar names, identical survivors, also likely if they bring keys.

Sometimes I also dodge when I see multiple flashlights, my experience with survivors and flashlight is that they are the killers best friend by not doing generators.

Other than that I am usually tabbed out until the game loads in.

Only time I leave a match is if I see someone on my "######### You" list. Those people who screwed me over in a prior match doing stuff like "I know you're on the hook, but I'm fixing this gen 16 meters from you until the Killer comes over. Then I'll farm you off the hook right in the Killer's face." And that scenario has happened 3 times in the past week now.

Otherwise, I just play the match. Sometimes the people with funny/stupid names are the best team mates a solo queue'er could ever have, sometimes they make me want to gouge out my eyes because of what they're doing. I also never check profiles or anything. Feels kind of creepy, and disturbing. I'd honestly rather not know who I'm teaming up with, it might make me quit completely.

If PC players really wanted to Dodge Consoles they'd just turn off Cross platform so that's not it. If it is then fellow PC players who are Console dodging turn off cross platform you dummies.

  • KerJuice
    KerJuice Member Posts: 1,970

Lol…maybe they can tolerate 1 because of que times if turned off. But once they see 2 or 3 console players they rather leave. Who knows…

  • Mringasa
    Mringasa Member Posts: 980

If you turn off Crossplay, you can't play with anyone who has it turned on. So you lose a huge chunk of the online players, and end up with massive waits for lobbies because the portion of PC players who have it turned off is small comparatively.
