So I'm trying to make a name for myself in the gaming world. Whether it's a big name or a small name I still want it to be represented correctly. Let me explain. No this is not a Sob story. Looking for opinions.

So I have always had a Twitch/Tourette's. Facial Twitches that is. It's come and gone in severity throughout my life. But growing up I was given this Nic-name of TwitchBoy. And it used to really hurt my feelings. Kids would come up and say, "hey twitchboy, and mimic my blinking while saying it to me.

Now I am in my 30 and this nic name was given to me far before Streaming TwitchTV was a thing. So often people just assume I stream on Twitch. Even though I do I feel like they just assume I stream of Twitch because the name TwitchyMike. I came up with a way to own power of the name that used to bring me down. And I think it's catchy. What do yawl think when you see my name?

And yes I do stream as well. But I don't want people to think that's why I have this name.

I think it sounds pretty nervous, like you'd jump to anything unexpected, so if I were to watch your stuff I would definitely be thonking horror content.

As for owning the names they called you - good for you! I have Tourette's as well, but wasn't diagnosed until 4 years ago. It was nice to have a name, but the issue was does Tourette's define me or does it just act as a perk? I'm wondering about that as your name and whether you feel Tourette's defines you or not. But I wouldn't get that from the name.

I do applaud you for being outgoing with it. It's starting to be recognised as much more than someone saying swear words all the time. That's only a minority, as you know. Most is painful tics and spasms.

As I belong to the generation prior to Twitch becoming popular, my mind immediately goes to the twitchy palms memes that people used to do about the 50SoG books and I don't automatically associate it with Twitch, but I suppose I can why some people would think that.

I'm not sure if i saw you on YouTube or Twitch but i remember your name from somewhere.

When i saw your name for the first time i was guessing you are a known streamer, i respect you if you are.

I think the name you choose is the name that actually represents you. You have to stand behind that name and be proud of it.

I chose my Streaming name and added one trait of my personality to the name. i ended up with cute / weird name, depends on how people see it.

Eventually people will like you and the content you produce. at first they can be mistaken about the name and then they will like you and the name will no longer be a big deal. they will admire you and the name alike.

Be confident. after all, your user name is also your creativity and who you are.

I think your name is pretty cool.
