Are there really THAT many players trying to cheat and manipulate game files?

I swear it seems about 1 game in 3 as a survivor on the PC I get kicked out of the lobby with the error code 2 message that the game couldn't validate the hosts (killers) account through easy anti cheat.

Is this a bug with the game OR are there really that many freaking cheaters in this game?

Was just curious...

    You also get that error message if the host closes the lobby.

    It does happen as a bug on PC as far as I know but not sure about console. If after updating the game, the player opens dbd from the 'manage download' page instead of the game libary the player will get the anti-cheat error after about 5 - 10 minutes or if steam screws up a bit.

    Verifying the games file integrity, redownloading the update and opening from libary fixes this.

    There are legit cheaters on occassion though but often it will be the bug.

    As everyone above said and something extra, 90% of this community has hacked at least once, most hack the savefile, then we have blatant hackers

    I must say tho' , i love seeing rank 15-20 people with perfect perks aaaaaand, ultra rare's, just lovely
