Plunderes instinct
Is this bugged or was it changed I keep grabbing brown and yellow items. The killers perks were not affecting item spawns so it wasn't that.

Happened to me again

My theory is it was shadow nerfed because there for a while if you brought that perk you were almost guaranteed to find a key in one of the chests

I've been running it, and haven't had an issue.

If you want some actual decent items, you're meant to combo chest-searching perks with Plunderer's Instinct, such as Appraisal, Ace in the Hole, and/or Pharmacy. Your chances of finding good items is not that high with Plunderer's, as it's main function is to show you the auras of chests, the increased rarity is a bonus, but I'm sure if someone found the numbers, you'd see it's not that good. Even still, realistically all you should hope to find in a chest is a brown med kit, or maybe a flashlight or yellow+ toolbox. The brown med kit is one full health state, as well.

Unless I missed something the main purpose if plunderes was to get good items from chests, the highlight is al well and good but since chests spawns aren't completely random you can find them pretty easy without. The point was to find good stuff on them

Yup
- Grants a considerably better chance at finding an Item of a higher Rarity from Chests.

This just isn't true
The whole point of Plunderer's is that you consistently get greens and purple, brown items don't happen often when you have that perk

Still getting brown and yellow items any answer as to what's going on, I don't want to pit this in bug section if it's intentional

It's a part of my build and I pull a Key most games.

Oh, yeah, some of my items have been pretty sus too. Still haven't gotten a broken key in a long time, at least.

Just went five matches with no key, which would be fine if I got green or purple stuff but I get nothing good

Funnily enough, just used it in a game and found a pink key and a green key. I also used a green luck statue however!

If you use appraisal with plunderers you will almost always find at least one key.
But remember plunderers says considerably increase your chance of finding an item of higher rarity. So there is still a chance you don't find a better item

Sorry, the point I was trying to get across was that the term "considerably" holds little meaning in this game. Those terms are thrown around willy-nilly by the devs and have no consistency. If I was going to run a chest build, I would stack up on perks that help me get items. In the same way you try to do a wiggle build, the more synergestic perks you put on, the more value you get.

I ran it a few matches yesterday and still got good items. You still have the chances of getting a common item with Plunderers (14%).

Sorry, I was a little distracted when I wrote that first comment. I would like to clarify that I meant without Plunderer's, you can hope for those brown med-kits / toolboxes and yellow+ items as well. With Plunderer's your chances go up of course, but I still stand by my thinking that Plunderer's is better paired with other perks, rather than ran alone. If you can get higher rarity items without it, it's kind of like how do you know it's consistent and doing a worth-while job on it's own and not just more consistent, which I agree with!
@Jasix posted the image of the percentage chances, which is very helpful. It looks like you have an almost 1/5 chance to get a brown item? I did not know that!

It's not bugged as far as I can tell. It doesn't guarantee that you will get a great item, just increases the chances of it. As per @Jasix post, the percentages are higher, but definitely not a guaranteed higher value item.

I'd like to say that after getting fourteen brown items (with the Ace In The Hole add-ons as usual) and then a yellow flashlight with no add-ons immediately after, I'm never going outside when it's storming ever again, because with that kind of luck I'm just asking for death by mother nature.
I mean, I've gotten a key with the perk once, so that's neat, but I've also gotten literally the same results without Plunderer's, so I see no reason whatsoever to use it. You're better off using just Ace In The Hole, imo.
