Frustrations

I swear after this new sbmm and grade system all I'm getting are killers camping hooked and slugged people. Not only has it happened to me numerous times, but I've witnessed Docs, Huntresses, and Plagues (etc) just slug my teammates and carry them to a hooked survivor only to set up shop and let everyone die slowly right there.

It isn't just an issue I have with killers. I swear I'm getting placed with people that are just not doing objectives, not saving, killing themselves immediately on hook, or just afking and not playing entirely. Maybe I'm just really unlucky and I've been getting nothing but bad apples, however I haven't had this consistent issue before.

Is it sbmm, or does this somehow reflect on how I play? I don't think I'm that shabby. I have 500 or so hours in the game so by no means have I mastered it, but it does feel like I'm being put with teammates that feel far less skilled than I am. Of course, both of my issues happen with or without the other occurring in the same trial. Has anyone else noticed these things?

It depends on how you define skill. I KNOW I am bad at survivor, and I was in high mmr games for a bit with a playstyle of just doing everything a little bit. It just depends on the criteria. Like, I kill myself on hook too. But you know, when I am actually playing, I do A LOT for the team.

It is not like it only puts 4 looping masters together or something.

  • I have noticed a lot of killers camping hook or aiming to tunnel a specific person. I play with three other friends, so we have full team, I feel with the new SBMM it has been a lot of campers because I feel the higher in rank they get they obviously get the blood points. I feel like that is giving a "reason" for it. Camp hook and get 100% kills makes it faster to rank up.

Though before SBMM came out I had a LOT of rank 1 killers camping hook and slugging too. It's rough, but if you play solo you also run into teammates that aren't exactly "team players".. I found that out the hard way LOL. You do have the good ones, but ultimately I was left high and dry in most of my solos. XD

No I wouldn't expect it to put always put me with teammates that will carry me, and I anticipate a newer player every now and again. I guess what I mean by "skill" would have to be positioning and decision making as a survivor. Maybe knowledge on a killer's power or perks and how to identify them. A lot of that would just come naturally after you put some time into the game, but it just seems to be that my team doesn't have those skills many times. For example when I run Kindred even though I'm on hook and every survivor can see each other they just choose to cleanse the dull totems or gens.

That isn't to say they are all bad games or bad teammates, and by no means am I assuming I'm always better; I just got back-revved by a billy because I got stuck on a log. I can throw a game sometimes just like anyone.

Another, say, phenomenon that I've run into way more is just blatant tunneling. Not tunneling a dude 'cause you're behind, just dead-set on killing a dude at five gens.

I run solo, and I wouldn't expect the game to always give me the best teammates. Hell I'm definitely not always the best teammate because sometimes I want to do the other stuff too. That said there is a certain level of irritation when it should be time to stop opening a chest and save the guy that's been on hook for twenty seconds already. Maybe I'm just finally seeing things as normal after around 500 hours.

It's funny, I just introduced a friend to the game last week and literally their second match this happens. Huntress left everyone to bleed out for no reason. And there's a lot of tunneling going on. She didn't understand why I like the game. (:

I mean how could they understand. You're forced to sit there for however long until you bleed out or DC, but if you do the latter you're hit with a penalty for not wanting to sit through that. I guess you're not doing anything either way, might as well tab out and watch a youTube video after playing for two minutes lol
