Would Pyramid Head still be powerful without his cage and final judgement?
Just thought of this for fun!
It's definitely a very useful utility power. It allows you to quickly hook/kill someone (with the downside of it not activating any of your perks) as well as dodge Decisive Strike and other unhook-related perks including BT. But without his ability to plant down those trails and torment survivors to cage survivors and kill them once they're on their death hook, would he still be powerful?
His chase in general is pretty powerful if you know what you're doing, however it is countered by the survivor making too much distance.

Yes, he would still be a powerful killer.
He can hit you through any loop so even tho the cages are good he would still be good without them

I honestly don't even know why people use cages. The mori sure, but not cages.
Like I get that it's a slight convenience to not have to pck up and hook someone, but the amount of map pressure you lose because that survivor gets immediately unhooked, and the lack of information from not even knowing where they are until they're free is staggering.
Most of what makes a killer able to stay in a match is that when someone's hooked, a. people are scared to unhook instantly, b. someone is unhooked, c. one or more people are wasting time leaving gens to unhook that person. When you cage them you lose so much of that and in a much shorter time everyone has the capacity to be back on gens.
I get that it can somewhat counter DS and BT, but denying yourself access to a lot of the strongest killer perks like BBQ and Pop seems like a net zero tradeoff there.

Somewhat in the middle.
My favourite moment playing Pyramid Head as when three injured survivors accidentally body-blocked each other in a doorway and I downed them all with my special attack. I think having the ability to do that is still pretty powerful even without the cage. However, I also think the cage is the most fun part of the power and, in certain situations -- especially endgame -- it adds a lot. So he'd still be strong, but losing the cage would hurt him.

The only reason I say somewhat in the middle is because that's half his power you're getting rid of. His ranged attack can be the better of the two, but his cages/final judgement could be game changing depending on the match.

Even without torment, he arguably has the strongest non-mobility chase power in the game. Torment is just icing on the cake

Yes, he would still be a powerful killer.
Same as Demogorgon would still be as strong without Portals, or Nemesis without Zombies. Their primary power is shutting down loops, and in the case of PH you can and will have trials where no-one ever gets tormented and you still win rather easily.

I think he'd honestly be weaker, but at the same time, not by much.
If this were the old meta with old decisive, then definitely yes, but seeing as it was changed, it's not as great anymore. Not to say it's complete utter trash, as it can save you some time and pretty much remove the 'risks' (too rare or not common enough to really be a risk, but it can happen) of body blocking or flashlight saves. It's like a built-in lightborn in the sense that it counters some of survivors' options and tools, but isn't exactly game-changing or anything.
I kinda do wish the cages did a bit more for this reason since the meta has shifted, but he would still be a tad weaker without his cages. Just a tad.
