Is There Anything That Can Actually Be Done Against Hackers?

Is it even worth reporting them?

I reported a trapper to steam and in end game chat for cheating, the other 3 randoms did too.

Every single one of his traps was active. ALL of them.

He had insane setting speed.

He could teleport across the map.

When he picked someone up he had Agitation x 100000.

When he BM'd me on hook at the end (end as in... we got 1 gen done), he kept hitting me like he had STBFL.

His lunge was like Coup De Grace, and no he did not have any of these skills in end game chat.

One of the other survivors said that it's useless because he is just going to make another account. So, am I just wasting my time reporting?

It's always worth reporting. If it's left then the problem becomes worse. Plus, the more devs know of the problem, the more knowledge and time can be invested into it.

These hackers can bypass the bans by purchasing new accounts for literally less than a dollar and post game reports are useless because for hacking bans they ask players to send video proof to their support ticket. Insane.

They are also never instantly banned, as devs wait to collect a certain number of accounts to ban in ban waves. So hackers are free to play for a week or 2

For us? No, even reporting them is a waste of time. It might make you feel better, but at the end of the day they keep on hacking and don't get banned.

The devs, on the other hand, could fork over a bit more cash for a better anti-cheat software. They're never perfect, but the better the software, the harder it is to cheat.

Banning hackers is fighting the symptoms. You can do it but it is not a solution.

What DBD needs is a proper anti cheat that gets updated regularly.

Or six months, or a year, in the case of the ones I've reported after jumping through all the hoops and catching them flying around on video. I suspect there's software out there that's been allowing them to ignore bans.
