I CAAAAAME
Will we ever get to hear that? I honestly doubt it 😂 Why isn‘t it in the game tho it was literally working in the ptb?

It was but they took it out for whatever reason. If it's because it got memed on, they need to get tf over it.

license holders did not like the memes so probably never unless Clive barker changes it when he gets the licencing rites back

Or people just grow up. It was funny once, just about.

Or maybe, you know, it broke?
The chatterer legendary skin was practically released with Pinhead.
Perhaps the conflicting voice lines broke the voiceline on Pinhead alone, leaving the Chatterer to chat away.

That was never confirmed to be the case though.

no sex jokes in my teen sexploitation genre
If anything, the people in charge should grow up and realize it's just a joke.

An unfunny, immature joke that should only funny to teenagers that was overused far too much.

We don’t know the reason, which is precisely why most think it’s a legal thing. If it was a bug, it wouldn’t have been mentioned as an intentional patch note.

This 100%, there's no reason they should be so vague with us unless the license has something to do with it.

'Go play something else for a while. Play civilization, that's a good game' springs to mind lol.

A quote taken out of context. This quote, IN context, actually was a rather fair comment.
...that's not to say they never say some questionable things, but that isn't one of them.

He was told he shouldn't have said it though. Therefore I claim that as my defence with my comment

I agree with this. Saw the video with him saying that in the first place and it felt a genuine comment where he was recommending people take a break. I think he may have been warned that because a) the person with him knew it was going to be contorted into something out of context, b) maybe promoting a game that wasn't DBD was an issue, or c) it was moreover that he may have been taking on a contentious comment where wording needed to be careful (pretty much like point a., but still a reason).
Besides, Civ 6 is a great game! It also comes from a decent legacy of previous Sid Meier games. Seems a good recommendation for those wanting to slow the pace a bit and reduce their frustrations.

The people who spread false info will just claim you're being dishonest.
You can't fight people who are acting in bad faith by ignoring them, because reality doesn't matter to them, only spreading their lies does.

I am referring to BHVR. They could be more officially transparent as to the reason of the audio file removal.
1 -
Mathew Cote has said multiple times that license agreements are super confidential and are under NDA. There is nothing we can do about that.

Nobody has stated this is a licensing issue. It's an "issue with the audio files". More can be said.
0 -
This is why i think it's a license issue.

Probably won't come back. I guess he got sick of caming
0 -
We should never stop talking about it though, because that is straight up false advertising.
0 -
...And I am referring to the people spreading lies, who will just continue to spread lies, claim BHVR is lying, and so on. I think we were both pretty clear on what we're saying.

Hard to claim BHVR is lying if they would be more open, though. If they had simply stated they were sorting out a licensing issue then the fake tweet would have been impossible. Yes, they would have more egg on their face - but they should - it was a screwup.

Yup, by refusing to say anything, they're encouraging people to wildly speculate on the reason. And if they're not saying because of a contract, well, they signed the contract knowing this could happen. I'm also pretty skeptical that they HAD to remove them so close to the release of the DLC and that the contract has a clause saying they can't mention whether this change is temporary or permanent.

I don't really get what people are saying on this thread.
Sure the joke was unfunny, but how does that actually justify removing the voice lines? And besides, you can't even speak for the devs on why they removed the voice lines, because we don't know it. It's all speculation.

Changed to "you opened the box" and then he teleports.

They can't tell us why and probably want to pretend like it's licensed related so they don't have to admit the actual reason because they totally can't tell us. Until they say something that's what I think. It's not like the only audio files that existed for his voice lines were in the game and not backed up somewhere, you know? Who really buys that.
0 -
Even if it was haha poopy poopy, it's still a dumb reason to remove content.
1 -
It's actually very easy to claim BHVR is lying regardless of anything else, because liars don't care about the truth.

Considering Clive Barkers regaining the rights to Pinhead in december, its probably him not being happy with the voice lines.
He is very protective of his work and characters and rightly so after having his creations butchered for the past 25 years and milked dry.
While he isnt the license holder atm, BHVR would have had some contact with him considering when its time for license renewal, he will be the owner. So its better to stay on his good side.
Pinhead has to be kept lore friendly if they want to retain the rights. Barker will not take kindly to anything he sees as poorly done. I wouldnt be shocked if he asked for all references to his name be taken out considering his hate for the name Pinhead.

The mods have clearly said that they can't talk about it rn, if it was a bug they would have said so
0 -
If they voice lines were the problem, why not just change them to
"I cannot die"
"I. Am. Forever"
or something else. Pinhead has dozens of chilling lines in the Hellraiser movies, he's an absolute bad-ass.
