Why would a comp team go to public lobbies?
Been trying to learn bubba as I just bought him, probably played less than like 20 games and just got stomped by a comp team. Weren't you supposed to get easier games with killers you're new to with the new ranking system?

Because God forbid letting other people play the video game too.
And yes, it was supposed to, but that's under the stipulation that SBMM works.

Sbmm roughly puts ur not played killers around the point it thinks u belong so u can move up or down easier
also most comp teams dobt play public so their mmr is lower then u would expect

I mean most of them dont play in pubs or at least they play cross off or solo Q. I have never come across a full comp team or even a SS of a full comp team not in a KYF

SBMM is dogs balls. It doesn't separate killers by skill level. It just goes by whatever the highest rating you had on a killer was. Once you pick up a new killer you're right back into the same matches you just got out of with your strongest killer.

I haven't either, this was definitely a one-off but they named their team, res settings, etc. in their bios which is why I'm so sure

Yeah luckily it is a very very unlikely thing to happen but like I guess what can you do just not let them play the game.
Tbh I have mad respect for the comp scene in a general sense. They took the games balance into their own hands. Have actual win conditions. Some of the matches can just be amazing to see some peoples strength with certain killers like I remember this game with Xeno as Demo and some of the shreds he hit were literally jaw dropping at how precise they were. Also vast majority of them just stick to their little corner of the game playing against eachother in KYF. Imo they get a bad rep by the community.

Yeah, I've got nothing against comp players, and there's nothing that can be done about this sort of thing (especially considering how rare it is), I guess these particular ones just struck a nerve since they weren't exactly the nicest people in post-game chat lol

Because scrims are exhausting and are a pain to set up. You post in multiple discords looking for a killer, maybe even a specific killer(s), and then get about 10 messages at once, half of which are offering to play a killer you didn't even ask for. Then you probably filter out another 2 or 3 depending on whether you specified a region or not, or you work through a language barrier. All of which leads up to working with DbD's wonderfully dysfunctional custom lobby system. It will take 10-20 minutes just to get everyone loaded into the lobby, loaded into the match with the actual loadout they selected, on the map the killer selected because the game will randomly change that, etc. And then you have to sweat your tail off against an elite killer.
OR, you can just mess around with friends in pubs and scrim another day.

My guess is they're not exactly legit or not well-respected in the scene if they're omega sweating and flexing after a pub match. Probably haven't won anything of note and resort to pub stomping for satisfaction.
