Leon S. Kennedy's Perks
Leon S. Kennedy is known as a rather selfless person to those he wants to protect; you see this with the likes of Ada, Claire, Sherry, Ashley, Helena and so many other people. He wants to save others, even at the cost of possibly his own life, and this is why his perks in Dead by Daylight don't fit him.
If you think about it, out of all three of his perks, one of them is actually thematically sound for Leon, and that perk is the Flashbang, since he can make one to use against the Killer to possibly save another Survivor or distract the Killer in some capacity.
But the other two Perks need a thematic rework, as well as just a general rework to make them better to use. This is what I'm proposing.
Take The Bullet
You put your own life on the line to protect others, no matter how painful it will be.
- While healing another Survivor, neither you nor the Survivor you are healing produce any noise.
- After unhooking a Survivor or healing them from the Dying State or the Injured State, for the next 4/5/6 seconds, your aura is revealed to the Killer and you are granted the Endurance Status Effect for as long as you remain within 4/6/8 meters of the other Survivor.
- Tae the Bullet has a cooldown of 60 seconds after activation.
Rookie Spirit
You are determined to end this nightmare, once and for all, and find the resolve to keep going.
- When the Exit Gates are fully powered, you gain a stack-able 3%/4%/5% increase in opening speed for however many Survivors are still alive in the Trial, up to a maximum of 12%/16%/20%.
- If you are the last Survivor standing and the Hatch is closed, you are given the ability to open the Hatch by yourself. This action takes 15 seconds to perform, but guarantees a successful Hatch escape.
Owing to Leon's more altruistic nature, the character's "Bite the Bullet" perk is now known as "Take the Bullet", which is intended to make you the prime target for the Killer upon activation and ensures that you're getting another Survivor out of harm's way.
As for "Rookie Spirit", this is more based on two things we know about Leon; he's resourceful and intelligent, hence the ability to open a closed Hatch if he's the last one left standing; he's also one to want to save as many people as he can, hence the ability to open Exit Gates faster and the speed being based on how many other Survivors there are remaining in the Trial. Rookie Spirit also means that you need to ensure your whole team Survives in order to make the best use of it.
These would be pretty much in-character for Leon, a guy who actually puts himself in the crossfire and uses his intelligence when it matters the most in order to gain an upper hand on his adversaries.
What do you guys think? Think these perks would be more fitting for the character than what we have now?
