Is bhvr going to keep its promise and make individual killer sbmm real?

Or optimization?

Or offline bot mode?

Or casual mode?

Or (insert your own preference here?)

I hate features that were discussed not being made a reality.

Killers do have separate MMR scores. Its just your overall MMR is used when you play a new killer. After that the score goes up or down independently.

For example, my Trapper gets potatoes while my Nurse gets tryhards. This is because I don't kill with Trapper and mess around getting survivors into my traps.

You just quoted him saying "Its just your overall MMR is used when you play a new killer" before complaining about a new killer using your general mmr.

maybe it takes baseline mmr too much into account now but there is definitely individual killer mmr. There's a very noticeable difference in the survivors I get with demo, plague and blight and the ones I get with trickster, huntress and nurse if I'm playing at peak times. I played the last two killers i'd never played before the other day (twins and ceno) and I'd say it was probably somewhere inbetween although probably closer to the survivors I get with my stronger killers.

I've played enough recently to make it less likely that it's purely coincidence or confirmation bias.

I haven't seen that at all.

Maybe I'll try Twins. I haven't played them since December.

I also do notice small variations based on whether I win or lose, like a 0k or a 4k will generally lead to stronger or weaker survivors in the next match depending on which way it went, unless i'm playing at a stupid hour of the night when it's a free for all like before. But then i've seen people on here saying they get sweat matches over and over no matter how hard they lose, so maybe there's some issue where hitting higher mmr ratings gets you stuck there (I'm gonna go and assume yours would be higher than mine), which would be the sort of issue a system made by bhvr would have.

I don't really mind not knowing how exactly the system works but that also means we don't have much idea if and when it's currently bugging out or something...

I hope you get more enjoyable games soon in any case.

What assurances did the Devs give? I think people are taking expectations and making them into promises when none were given. Devs told us how they envisioned the end result would be and that nothing was definite.

Yes, some of the PTBs and test did have bottom tier MMR for unplayed killers but that highlighted an issue that shouldn't make it into the live release. An expierenced killer shouldn't go against new survivors just because they had a daily. The overall MMR was added towards the end of the testing to prevent noob stomping. One way to kill off your game is to scare new players from ever playing again. It was a necessary change.

All we can do is make our voices heard...I wouldn't be surprised if the spaghetti code of dbd bugged mmr like it did with Billy in the old test and transplanted the same sbmm to all killers.🤔

And one way to scare off your existing paying customers is giving them what they didnt ask for...here is your hamburger I put a ghost pepper on it for you free of charge🙄

  • They won't if you want to believe they don't.

I would think they care about their paying customers...in reality either to many people will leave on their own or a competitor will show up (VHS is a good shoutout) and they realize they could have retained players...brand loyalty.

I'm with @Friendly_Blendette , plans sometimes don't work out for things which is disappointing but it happens. But bhvr do the same thing again and again which is to cease discussing it entirely and ignore any and all questions about it.

Console optimisation, disconnection "husks", the early game mechanic, hit validation, offline bot matches etc. When nothing happens and people start asking about it there's just silence from every platform. No question on these topics makes it into the Q&A's either.

Is that lying? Not really but it's not remotely honest or particularly pleasant way of doing things. BHVR aren't the Mafia, they don't need a ######### code of omertà.

    1) individual killer mmr is a thing.

The difference between Oni, my worst killer and Legion my best killer is almost comical.

The latter gets haddonfield offerings with survivors who know how to optimise every broken loop in that match and the formor gets injured claudettes hiding in a bush surrounded by bloodorbs.

Just because it's not working like you thought it would work does not make it a lie.

    2) bhvr never makes promises.

A very bad trait of this community is that whenever the devs say something the community acta like it's a cross the hearth and hope to die promise.

It's not. They say what they are planning and working on but have zero obligations to you. If they change their mind then they change their mind.

You have the rights to use the game but whatever happens is up to them. Regardless of what they said in the past

Thank you for the response and I appreciate the confirmation🙂. I realize it is taking time to make changes and to implement ideas.

I know not to waste my time playing killer anymore while these changes are taking place. I have been beaten 44 times using a killer I have touched maybe 10 times total.

I am supposed to be placed against players my killers skill level correct? How many more matches am I supposed to lose before it balances out? 2k is supposed to be normal and I have gotten 0 to 1 kill on most off these matches.

How can I practice their power (usually without perks or addons since they haven't been leveled up) when i am placed against the same survivors using meta perks?

It is also not fair to put a learning killer against higher levels...if that is the case, we need that offline bot mode to practice with killer.

My highest killer mmr was trapper which hovered around green ranks every month and this past month before mmr reached rank 6.

I will apologize about the lies part though...not angry 🙂.

Not everybody wants or play ranked mode all the time...we need a casual mode.

My problem is with individual sbmmr is that it's not the killer, its the player if they make it individual killer, they will open themselves up to more complaints. If you take a killer that's already weak ,and a good player will already have the skill and knowledge to use that killer and casual player's or going to say oh ,this killer need's a nerf, then lowers the skill to make the killer even remotely viable in red ranks or grades whatever it is.It will be a bad idea imo.

So your solution to this is to put the killer player at a super low rank and play them against survivors with super high ranks and then hide how the system works so that no one understands what's going on?

And you wonder why BHVR gets called out all the time.

Mandy, I like you as a person but as someone who had to change platforms because of how terrible it was for console players, have you guys been actually working on console optimization for the past 3 years? You guys said early in 2019 that console was going to be optimized 60 fps and whatever it was.

It is 2021 and that patch never made it, and in fact it is worse FPS wise, telling people to buy SSDs to help their past gen console isn't optimizing.

But... my Survivor goes up against clearly new Killers all the time in this system. Like, doesn't have every perk slot unlocked yet Killers. Ghostface running Monstrous Shrine Killers. Doesn't-know-yet-how-far-a-lunge-covers Killers. I'm not the best Survivor by a long shot, but I'm competent, which means that I should be getting kept away from the Killers piloting their character via a racing wheel periphery.
